I don’t know why, but Rainier strikes me as a funny name for some reason. Love it!

Ok.
You got that? Ottoline is now in possession of a red crystal sword. Use it wisely!

And should we also assume that they’ve all trained a bit? They can do some more on the road.

@everyone
I guess we should assume all of them are carrying weapons now? Who has the crystal sword, and what color is it?

So he’s basically a human, but more than twice as large, and with wings, a tail, and claws?

Cloaked Mystery replied to the topic Character Party! in the forum General Writing Discussions 1 year ago
Maybe it can be a large black war elk.

Kate
Kate had never ridden an elk before. She barely even knew how to ride a horse. She frowned down at the light gray creature beneath her.
You should name it, Bloodsong said. Maybe you’ll like it better then.
Kate ignored the sword.
Come on, said Bloodsong. Don’t be so glum! Give it a name. It’s so cute!
“Shut up,” muttered Kat…[Read more]

I think for most authors, their first project is usually not ready to be published. I don’t like that thought either, but if it doesn’t get published initially, you can revisit it later and rewrite it. I don’t think it’s worth thinking about that right now, just focus on improving your skills.

Cloaked Mystery replied to the topic Microsoft Word or Google Docs?? in the forum General Writing Discussions 1 year ago
I use Word mostly, except as @HighScribe said, for the docs we share. I agree with what other people are saying: Word is easier to use and has better formatting options, but Google Docs has some advantages, namely I find sharing documents easier on Docs.

Ellis
They were finally on their way.
Ellis sat atop his dark elk, Shadowstep. He had never ridden an elk before, but he could ride a horse. How different could it be?
Ah, said Conviction. Doesn’t it feel good to get out of that cramped, ugly, smoky, charred palace and get on the road towards certain doom?
“Very optimistic,” said Ellis.
I k…[Read more]

I think I think about my writing in a different way than most people, because I don’t usually struggle with this stuff. I write because I like it (not the process, so much, but the results) not because I want to publish. I don’t think about publishing really, I just think it would be awesome to have written a book. Pub…[Read more]

I got a notification, so I saw it. Am I right in thinking that his weapons are on the right side and the pad where he gives commands to his armor is on the left?

Oh, and what shape are the crystal swords? Are they shaped like a normal blade, or is the blade more jagged and rock-like in shape?
-
Shaped normally. His is the style that can both slice and puncture.
As far as sides go, Nahim is skilled with a sword with both his left and his right, though prefers his right. Yes, he would hang it usually on the right but sometimes it is on the left. His holster is on the right, and set to be out of the way.
As far as commands go… He usually…[Read more]-

I think you said Nora’s armor is blue, red, and white. What color is Nahim’s?
-
Nahim’s is a grey/black with carton like lightning bolts of bright yellow centers and almost orange outlines.
When I get the chance, the watercolor shows you that stuff.-
He also has many armor markings…I tried to explain them, and I accidentally deleted it so, I’ll sketch them. I would wait a little to draw him, he’s kinda complicated.

How big is his sword? And what does it look like?

Let’s see…
(Hope that works)
Its proportions are similar to that. It’s about 4’… 4”? Maybe? Long.
I’ll get some more detailed descriptions later.

Yep, and talons for feet.
Oh, and his wings and tail are a pale teal color. His wings have a few dark green, tiger-like stripes close to where they connect to the body. His tail also has a few of those markings toward the end, and there are six small spikes on the tip–three on each side.
