*facepalm* so much for being dramatic. The post is ‘pending moderation’, because I put a link in it. From past experience, that takes a long time (approximately forever), so I’ll have to redo that.

Hello, KP! I am (probably) going to be more active, as I have finished all my online classes, as well as blackbelt testing, and piano lessons. Despite not posting much, I haven’t been *completely* out of touch with the KP world. I know some new people have…[Read more] -

That would work, but everyone would have to be fine having their google profile be visible.

Fear not KP. I have actually not ceased to exist on this planet despite what it might seem. I have simply been burdened with tremendous amounts of work these last months. In two weeks might be more active again, as I will have finished with some things that have been taking up a lot of time.

There’s a magic system (the one above actually) that’s been giving me a lot of trouble. This is an outgrowth of Metal Bonding, which is now going to be just a part of it. I have a basic grasp of what I want, but the details are really frustrating me. For one thing, I don’t know what I want each…[Read more]

The reason for this scene is to show struggle. Nahim has kept to himself a piece of his life that comes back to haunt him every other night for four years. I doubt anyone would suddenly spill it all out. And the disappointment is also kinda purposeful, but since this is the second chapter, it’s not too great.
Yeah, that makes sense, but I w…[Read more]

1. I don’t think the scene is too short. I do have to wonder if it is necessary though. It’s hard to say without context, but it doesn’t seem to move the plot forward really. I also would consider that the reader is likely expecting to hear Nahim’s backstory and feel like they’re being cheated out of it.
2. No, I think it’s fine.
3. Yes. I…[Read more]

Cloaked Mystery replied to the topic Kingdom Pen Worldbuilding Mash-up RP in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 months, 3 weeks ago
@everyone
So, I’m thinking that we should have a layout something like this:
- A “main” area, like a city that has different sectors for different worlds, plus maybe some mixed areas. This will help have a focused location for things to happen in.
- Any world aspects that don’t make sense in a city can exist outside somewhere.
- Other cities…

Cloaked Mystery replied to the topic Kingdom Pen Worldbuilding Mash-up RP in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I am aware of that one, but I think there are significant differences between them. From my understanding, that one is more of a “collaboratively build a world from scratch” RP, whereas what I’m proposing is more “collaboratively build a world by combining things from existing worlds we have individually created.” There are some…[Read more]

So, this is an idea for an RP that I’ve had for a while. Basically, the idea is that any of us KPers can submit worldbuilding aspects from our writing and create a big world that combines all sorts of stuff.
It would be a sort of “open world” RP, where we have a preset location, and people are free to do whatever plots they want.
And to make…[Read more]

As I was saying before my post was rudely deleted…
I haven’t had worked on this at all in a while, but I’ve been thinking about it in the back of my head. I realized that I have very little attachment to the vague plot ideas I have so far, or most of the characters, which leaves the setting as basically the only thing I do care ab…[Read more]

Yeah, that sounds cool!
(Funnily enough I’ve been thinking about a somewhat similar RP idea, but I didn’t propose it because as it is other RPs are struggling along. (Not that I have a problem with starting a new one if other people want to.) Basically my idea was that we could have a world where a bunch of different parts of our own wor…[Read more]

Kate apparently didn’t understand the Queen’s last sentence
That’s because I didn’t either XD. Is she saying that it’s better to force them to fight than for her people to die? In that case, Kate simply wouldn’t agree anyway.

“Very noble of you to force other people to risk their lives for you,” sneered Kate. “I’m not going to do what you say even if it means I never leave!” She turned and briskly walked out.

Are you kidding me? Thought Kate.
The queen had pulled them all here to clean up her mess—as though Kate didn’t have enough problems of her own—and some people, at least the dragon, were going along with this?
“Look,” said Kate. “You’re not the only one with problems. …[Read more]

Good to see you again! I haven’t been too active either, more just on and off. KP finally published my short story as well, so that’s cool. I’ll check out the Novella! That’s awesome that you’ve done that!

Yeah, I found that writing is a lot easier when you have *no other choice.* Since I was expected to submit an outline, and expected to submit a chapter every week, I actually did do those things!
Yeah, that’s what happened when I wrote my short story. There was a due date for a competition I was entering it for, so that accountability really forced me to Just Do It!
What’s frustrating is trying to have that same accountability on yourself. Even if you set dates, it doesn’t feel the same, so there’s gotta be good ways to convince yourself…[Read more]
Maybe we could organize something similar for KP, where everyone submits a chapter a week. But then again, maybe that wouldn’t be enough. It would probably be pretty easy to tell everyone that you didn’t have enough time, and then get behind and completely forget about it.
That’s true, but holding each other accountable is a great method. Me and my sister could start trying to do that. We pester each other about writing all the time, but it may actually help to set it up as chapter submission to one another, or something like that.
Wow, dramatic.
One question: WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH JONAS?
