So I’m laying out the foundation for another novel- novella and ran into some plot forks. I was hoping I could get some input… Here’s the basics.
In the future, five kids grew up in the same neighborhood together. They had unusual powers. Cass can turn invisible, Jax has telepathy, Kai has telekinesis, Raylee can manipulate water,…[Read more]

@overcomer, I like the overall poem, it’s lovely, but it can be better still! 🙂 I don’t know about the stories sleeping in my head part. Maybe the stories imprisoned in my head or something along those lines because you mention not finding the key to release them? And while I’m talking about the key, perhaps “But still the key I keep.” I like…[Read more]

@julia-r, I tend to be a little more un-creative. I normally bang on my keyboard (gently) and rearrange the letters that appear. If I don’t like it, I repeat. I will sometimes take names that I like and add a few extra letters… For me, Rey went to Rayellon, and a jumble of letters turned into Medeisa. And for people names, I find numerous…[Read more]

@bluejay I am going to see it in two weeks! The art museum has an outdoor theater for free! I didn’t love the animated one, but it was good. (I don’t care for singing)

@julia-r, Favorite disney movie? Is it possible to pick one? I think I would have to say… When I was little: Little Mermaid. Favorite Princess: Rapunzel (love the profile pic, by the way) Favorite movies: The Incredibles, and Inside Out (and more!) My favorite medium is watercolors too. I love to draw Disney characters and (attempt to draw)…[Read more]

@julia-r, write about the protagonist who doesn’t want to be the hero. Or vice-versa. The villain didn’t want to be the antagonist, but he doesn’t know how to stop.

@julia-r, *appears in a cloud of sparkly smoke* (Not to be out done by @daeus) Hello! I am a fellow Disney lover too! (Who cares that I am a little older than the targeted audience?) 🙂 I am also with you on the forgetting of ideas. I have learned to stash notebooks and pads everywhere, so I am prepared when inspiration strikes. Even if I am…[Read more]

Thanks @gretald, @hope, @christi-eaton. I’m writing the script for a home-school dinner theater production that we are putting on. Someone asked if I could write the scene (from a tv show) and I am happy to do so. 🙂

I wasn’t sure where to put this, but does anyone have any tips for writing scenes to be acted out? I have been asked to write a script for a five minute scene (I already know what about,) and am wondering if there might be any more experienced people out there. 🙂 Are there any major differences? Must haves? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

@bluejay, from the wonderful google: A diamante poem is a poem that makes the shape of a diamond. The poem can be used in two ways, either comparing and contrasting two different subjects, or naming synonyms at the beginning of the poem and then antonyms for the second half for a subject. In the poems, the subject is named in one word in the first…[Read more]
