I’ve only ever seen TFA, but I want to see the rest. And I have had episodes 1-6 quoted to me by my brother. (every line, went for a whole day.) And the music. The music was played at the right times. So, I’ve heard the whole lot?
HAAAA! XD He must’ve seen it a few times.

@jess-penrose Your Cinderella retelling sounds awesome! I can’t wait to read it someday. 😉 I myself am working on a retelling, but for Snow White (it’s supposed to be for the Rooglewood contest, but I’m still only in the planning stages… *nervous grin*).

You have cattle! Do you live on a farm? 😬
It’s fine if you don’t know those examples…
*cough* *nods at profile picture* I am a catwing. Yes, we are like cats.
@jess-penrose
I had more.
If she has a fairy godmother for each of her parents… what if she had another one who is also her stepsisters’ and stepmother’s? One who try’s to stop the…[Read more] -

Hi, @jess-penrose! I myself wrote a Cinderella retelling a while back, (though it wasn’t my best work) and I may or may not have some ideas for you.
1. Have the prince be good and the Fairy Godmother (or equivalent thereof) have told Tareyn that he stole the pendant. But the Fairy Godmother (or equivalent thereof) actually stole it and wants to…[Read more]

@jess-penrose You are welcome. I imagined a talking zebra and it was a comical character, so…
I like those characters. They add spice and salsa.
Also most animals like to eat. 😉
I plan on lots of fun for the catwings in my book. *trys to not explode from excitment*
For talking animals you could take one of two paths (there may be others):
Make…[Read more] -

@jess-penrose You are very welcome. I think the fairy godmother being a romantic would cause issues especially if Terayn isn’t. Her fairy godmother can pester her about it.
Though what the pendant’s powers are can effect the story too.
Another thought… what if she has more than one fairy godmother? Or also a fairy godfather? -
Catwing replied to the topic Fairy Tale Retelling in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 7 years, 8 months ago
@jess-penrose I am active and love fairy tale rewrites! Bonus points! anyway…
Cinderella.
So what you’re saying is she goes to the ball, but not because she likes the prince. Because she doesn’t and wants the pendant back?
I got a few things…
The prince knows what she looks like or she thinks he does. She needs her fairy godmother to change…[Read more] -

@jess-penrose this looks like a very solid idea. However, the one thing that’s sticking out to me is that you have no plot twists. There are no reveals— no changing of the scene or forcing existing scenes to be viewed in different lights.
One of the reasons for this is that Taryn has one goal to pursue throughout the entire story and it’s the…[Read more] -

@jess-penrose – What are LotR fans?
Ha! That’s funny you should mention the Amish. Yes, they are in America; I should know. I live where they live in Pennsylvania! 🙂 I love it when the buggies go up my street! They are very warm, hospitable, and hard working people.
And thank you for the welcome!

Okay! I think I’ve got it now. I still want to come up with a dramatic tagline, but the rest of it’s done. What do you think?

Well, the version of a synopsis I know is a maximum of 10 page summary of a book that describes the plot, characters, message, world and the writer’s thoughts. Soooo… I assume these are slightly different things in Australia. That’s all.
That’s my definition of a synposis too…I mean, that’s a good reason for writer’s to hate…[Read more]

@jess-penrose We call them both.
@josiahdeboer You don’t need to have read the book. Just tell me your gut feelings. Most people, after all, do read a synopsis before they read the book.

Well, in my opinion, I wouldn’t use the Message bible because even though it is an easier version to read and uses more colloquial terms, it isn’t necessarily doctrinely ‘sound’. One verse that is extremely important to us as Christians is this “Before Abraham was, I Am.” This clearly states that Jesus is God, very important to…[Read more] -

Hey guys, just got my some more time here. So I guess I’ll just reply to you guys one by one.
@jess-penrose, my answer to your question (God loves us one on one? Does that mean that He is a kind ruler? Or does that mean He is our friend and constant companion?)is this:
Why not BOTH? God is all and omnipotent and we can not possibly hope to…[Read more]
