@catwing I’ll start now, then. 🙂
@jenwriter17 I’ve heard many things about Nadine Brandes, but I have never read any of her stuff. 😛
@valtmy Glad you’re here! See you at the end of the word war!

@jenwriter17 I didn’t know that. Maybe I shall enter… *ponders*

@jenwriter17 Okay.
@valtmy @rochellaine @seekjustice Are y’all ready to start? 15 minutes? -

@catwing @seekjustice @jenwriter17 @rochellaine
Hey guys I’ve finally reached home! 🙂

Righto. The things I was reading seemed to indicate it meant more generally a horse that hadn’t reached mature age. Here it very specifically means a horse between 1-4. Younger than 1 is a foal, and a female is a filly. I’ve never really seen any Americans use those terms though, which was why I was a little confused.

@catwing Okay, my sentences were all pretty short in the last section I wrote, so I’m going to give two that go together:
“We have not killed your brother, girl. We speak the truth.”
@jenwriter17 @seekjustice Shall we have another word war?
@valtmy Are you home yet?

@jenwriter17 I chose favorite. My last was…
But it was big.
Where is my Newberry Medal? IT will probably be rewritten. XP -

@rochellaine @catwing @jenwriter17
And I’m pretty sure I have no interesting sentences, but this one…
This brumby was one of a highly sought after colouring–not quite pure white, but not cream or golden either.
…is a reference to one of my favourite childhood books, The Silver Brumby.

Guess what? I got 269. Without eating pizza.
I’m sort of stuck on the details of capturing brumbies though. Exactly how one does it with a horse and no helicopter.
By the way, Jen. Since you are an American horsie person, what does the word colt mean? You seem to use it in a different way to we do.

@seekjustice Yeah. I think I heard we beat the last record, though I would have to double check.
@jenwriter17 What was your sentence?
@rochellaine I think we could just share one. *shrug*
I got 146.
My sentence… hmmmm…Her legs felt like iron beams cemented into the ground as the moss and dirt fell off the dragon rising from its…

@seekjustice @catwing @jenwriter17 I got 339 words. What sentences are we supposed to share?

SeekJustice replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
My guild did not win the last word war though 🙁
Okay, I’m putting my timer on.
-
valtmy replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
Well that sounds interesting. Maybe you should take a step back and review your plans for your plot and story.
Sorry I’ll have to pass on the word war because I’m not home yet…

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
@catwing @seekjustice @jenwriter17 @valtmy Or, as Catwing suggests, favorite sentence. I have no preference. 😛

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
@seekjustice @catwing @valtmy @jenwriter17 So are we having a ten minute word war?
Sure, let’s do the “last sentence” game. 🙂
-
Catwing replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
@jenwriter17 10 minutes is fine with me.
@seekjustice Oh…hmmmm….
Yeah, let’s do that! Or we could share our favorite sentence we wrote. 🙂
-
Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
@jenwriter17 I think we all agree that there is no real competing with Seekjustice in terms of how fast we write.
…but we can all dream. 😀
@seekjustice 😛 But Sir Patrick Stewart was bald first, and he was/is considered one of the most handsome men of his time.
@catwing She didn’t particularly do anything…it was more her brother’s fault. …[Read more]

I have a secret… for some reason Scrivener counts more things as words than Word, I’m pretty sure.
But yes, I would love another war. Pizza calls right now, but I’m sure I can eat and type. I need a handicap anyhow.
Also, do you want to do that “share the last sentence you wrote” or something like that for some fun?
-
Catwing replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
@seekjustice 224 words! I’m getting faster!
@jenwriter17 Sure!
The guild war is giving me extra motivation to finish in a month. 😀@valtmy Maybe I am hungry… I was trying to tell you that breakfast coming first is a good idea, but my brain said, “breakfast comes first. Use it as the first word then.”
*eats chocolate* Yum. 😀 -

@jenwriter17 @valtmy @rochellaine @catwing
Um, hello again!
My timer has gone off, though I’m not sure about Catwing’s. I got 596 for all who wanted to know.
I was also just laughing because “Prince William gave hope to thousands of bald Englishmen by losing his hair”.
