@kina-lamb @daeus @kate-flournoy @Jason @his-instrument @graciegirl @ethryndal @winter-rose @anyone else who sees this
Back again, yes. Asking for help….hesitantly I have come. But really, I never can decide whether I want to write from third person or first, so I need some dares in first person and others in third person to see if that’ll help…[Read more] -

@dragon-snapper Way to use a LOTR quote! Bonus points for you!
@jason Sounds like a fascinating story idea! I did something similar, where I had a whole group of characters with fantastic “gifts.” Most of the gifted people were “good guys,” but one of those who received a gift was a callous army commander who inflicted punishment, even death,…[Read more] -

@jason Are you looking for a genre-specific dare? I can give you some suggestions.You by no means “have to” do any of these.
1) Take a cliche (like the classic “we’re going to be poisoned by this dude who just put something in our food” or “we’re enemies but now we’re falling in love” or “I’m a superhero so I’m just awesome, no questions asked”…[Read more] -

@jason I like the idea of names like Blue Thrush and Red Leaf. You’ll want to be careful not to make them sound like Native American names (not that all Native Americans have names like that, just that that is what a lot of people associate with them), and I think combining them into one word would be a good way to do that. Shakespeare had some…[Read more]

@jason, you have just altered the plotline of my entire novel, added about six chapters and eleven new characters.
Thank you.

@Jason Ooh! I do like that. *writes down in notebook* I will, henceforth, keep that in mind.
*sighs* Naming is great, except when you spend an hour or so doing it. 😛
@his-instrument Yes! The list! 😉 -

@Jason Oh yeah. Dares are always in the giving…hehehehehe. 😛
Write about why mice are blind.
Write about how the princess climbed the tower to save the dragon.
Write a conversation about an ostrich race and put it in your WIP (that of course, you don’t have to do. It’d be pretty funny though 😛 ) -

@jason I’m an INFP! You know, the type with the avatar always prancing through a field of flowers or something like that. I’m not sure what point they’re trying to make… ;P Anyways, like I said, I tossed around a few ideas one of which was INFJ. For the simple reason that you’re here on KP I decided the balance of probability lay with you being…[Read more]

My novel is fantasy, but my stories tend to be very character driven (as appose to plot driven)
*serious nod* That sounds very good. 🙂 I usually like character driven stories better than plot driven ones.

Hello @jason, glad to have you here. Your novel in progress sounds really neat, and the poetry on your blog is excellent. I noticed you have read ‘Hinds Feet on High Places’, that’s one of my favorites.

@Jason Oh, goodness, I’m neglecting my reputation!
I like poetry. I do. All of it. Especially the long, three page stuff that’s entirely in Elvish and no one understands. 😀
*cough cough* Ahem. Hey, so you’re an introverted extrovert! Or an extroverted introvert! Or whichever order that goes! (please, MBTI fanatics, I need you) And we have…[Read more]

Hey, @Jason! So glad to have you. I was poking around on your blog, and whoa! Your poetry is GOOD! (And believe me when I say it, because I don’t even like poetry. 🙂 ) What are some of your interests, other than writing? Do you play any instruments?

@Jason Greetings!
Trust me when I say this: you will learn sooo much about writing here. I’ve been writing for three years, but I’ve learned so much more of the ‘dynamics’ from when I joined. It’s great! -
