@aratrea Er…It’s an ice-cream giving frog. Not so bad, right? You’re the Wiser (Gandalf like character), Josiah Degrande, and its a long story. 😛
@jane-maree @daeus isn’t really an evil king. He just doesn’t want to see his kingdom destroyed by dragons or by the evil lord and his trolls. -

@dragon-snapper @daeus @jane-maree How’d I ever get associated with a frog? O.o

Between sundry interruptions I managed to somehow pound out 526, which I guess is pretty good. Thanks for writing with me guys. 🙂

@jane-maree @kate-flournoy @daeus Well, I’m done for tonight. I finished the tale, the rough draft, at least. All that’s left is to edit it.
Nobody give @aratrea a frog! 😛 Actually, Daeus, the frog gave you ice cream in the story. -

@Jane-Maree ha! I was not, alas, required as an essential part of the picture… merely to keep part of a background steady. 😛

@daeus Grumpy in that the world is pitted against you. Josiah Degrande (the Wiser) @aratrea and his pet frog do a good job at annoying you.
@jane-maree Hahahaha! Something like that. 😛 -

@jess @ethryndal That is helpful: thanks!
@kate-flournoy Magnets. I like magnets. Thanks for the idea. (hehehehe)
@jane-maree The nice thing about not knowing what you’re doing is that you get to wing it. 😛 And I do have the world and plot set up, actually, I just have to know if there is any rhyme or rythm to sci-fi in itself. Thanks though!…[Read more] -

Does anyone have any experience in writing science fiction? I’ve recently begun to write a sci-fi book, but it is my first attempt, and I’d appreciate any input you all can give me. And also book suggestions that are good sci-fi examples. Anything you can tell me is welcome. But if you want specificities, I’d like to know how to describe mechanics…[Read more]

Fall and Winter months are over, and that’s crazy, but its true. Just yesterday I made the Fall and Winter Goals topic. Or maybe that wasn’t yesterday, but either way, it feels like that.
Well, I was able to complete my goal last time, finishing my novel before the appointed time, and since it worked so nicely last time, I figured I’d make…[Read more] -

@jane-maree Something like that could work. You could also try the Lord-of-the-Rings method of making another figure under that villain a more prominent villain for the heroes to have to fight against, a la Saruman or Gollum. There is a place for the overlord character type to remain bland as long as the focus isn’t really on him as a villain.
