here are a few quick ideas that came to mind:

He could get pulled into acting in a Christmas play,
go Christmas caroling,
or shovel snow for an elderly neighbor,
or have a girl ask him for advice on what to buy as a gift for another guy (one of his friends or something?)

Part of why I’m trying to be so careful with names, is that I wasn’t so careful in the past. One of the first stories I ever wrote had two main characters that had two syllable names that both began with the letter K. It just wasn’t something on my radar at that point in my writing journey.
