Ramblers are welcome too! 😉
Thanks for joining the club, @kate-flournoy @hope @aella ! It sounds like we’re all stuck working on the nitty gritty, perhaps not-so-fun parts of our projects.
I’m working on procrastinating right now, which is going really well thus far . . . when I’m done, I might take another crack at finishing that…[Read more]

Okay @Daeus, @hope, @anyone-else-who-liked this, I’ve been working over it, and I think I’ve got it finished. I want to publish it with KP, but I want to know what you guys think of it first. Without further ado, here it is in it’s entirety.
And just because, here’s the link to the music I was listening to when I wrote the last verse. I think it…[Read more]

Ok, people living in Indiana (@faithdk, @hope, @hislittlerose)
I’m needing a city in Indiana that is close to the border of Ohio. Plus I need a street name in that city too. It is a setting in my story and I won’t it to actually exist. Other people who live in that state (yourselves for example) will never read my story it is so bad. Also do you…[Read more] -

All of these ideas are interesting… hey, you might try combining them @hope. First off, you could have a misinterpreted prophecy regarding the King’s Horn for the whole book, that way everyone thinks that whoever blows it is the one whose enemies will be stricken down. That would keep the tension when E and K are fighting over it, and the…[Read more]

@hope Sorry, no amazing ideas here, but the “ancient pear that doesn’t break” made me laugh out loud.
What book is this? I don’t think I’ve read it yet…but I’m thinking I need to!!! 🙂

@hope Could the water actually physically come to the good guy’s army? Like, could it shoot out of the earth in a huge geyser and scatter its spray all over them?

Hey, I recognize this! 😉
And…
the bad guy as an ancient pear which doesn’t break.
*strokes chin with faint twinkle in eyes* I’m trying to imagine Keros fighting with an ancient pear that doesn’t break… or better yet, Keros as an ancient pear that doesn’t break. I think I’m failing. *cue hysterical laughter* That was supposed to be has a…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy, Ah! Thank you for clearing that up! I was getting confused between personal character goals and the main story. So now that I think about it, in my WIP the main story goal is to defeat the bad guys, like you said, but the MC’s goal is to find love. The MC is an orphan, and she’s had a pretty bad life so far…so her goal is to…[Read more]

@hope, I’m not sure if this is what you’re thinking, but here’s an idea: when the battle between the MC and the villain is over and the villain’s men find out that their leader is dead, they could just run. That’s usually what happens at the end of battles…the men are really fighting for their leader, and when the leader’s gone, they’ve got no…[Read more]

Sweet! @kate-flournoy I totally enjoyed this! It felt like an introduction or ballad from a novel, and a very exciting one too. I must say, I expected something cliche, but was surprised as I read to find that it never went there. A little corny, yes, but done right, if you know what I mean.
I agree with @hope that you should work on “The…[Read more]

That’s funny, @hope and @Kate-flournoy. I don’t have much younger siblings to look after. Still I can listen to a couple of teenage boys interact.

That… is hilarious, @hope. One of my go-to games when I’m babysitting my siblings and they start getting rowdy is ‘castle’— each child is elected by popular vote to fill the place of jester, knight, queen, prince, king, etc. Once we’ve got everyone assigned their roles, we play battle or banquet or coronation some other such castley thing.…[Read more]

@Daeus your comment made me chuckle. Seriously, that is EXACTLY something my dad would say (and has said). 🙂
@hope, I don’t think there is anything wrong with purchasing said dagger. It does depend on what kind of money you have to spend on fun things like that. For me at the stage of life I’m in now (i.e. scraping pennies off the ground to add…[Read more]

@hope, it really depends on whether you’d buy anything else like that for $50. For me, usually I use image searches (think Pinterest or Bing) to find story inspiration, but then I bought a replica of a shield from the 1290s for something like $70. Will I ever wield the thing in battle? Probably not. Yet do I enjoy having the shield on my wall?…[Read more]
