Hey, everyone!
I was just thinking about writing (granted, I’m always thinking about writing, but that’s beside the point). Why do we do it? Why do we want to put a bunch of words onto a page; make remixes of the Dictionary? What motivates us?
Writer’s Block, in my opinion, is just lack of motivation, so, I was thinking that each of us writers…[Read more] -

Well, since your making your own creatures, I would say the Chronicles of Narnia, but most of us have memorized them. 🙂 I second @hope‘s suggestion as Lord of the Rings. However, Lord of the Rings is really long and I don’t know if you have time to do that…the Hobbit is much shorter. Ranger’s Apprentice is fantasy-ish. He makes up his own…[Read more]

@hope You’re on the Camp NaNoWriMo website, not nanowrimo.com You use the same username and password, but you actually need to log in there for it to create that half of your account. No wonder I couldn’t find you, you’re not actually there.

Ooo, those are cool. I love 1st, 2nd, and 4th one especially. I wish I could draw my own characters that well. *sighs* I guess I’ll settle for pinterest. What type of story is this?
@hope Thanks! 😀 It gets easier if you have a style to copy off of and if you practice a lot.
It’s a Redwall fanfiction-type thing, probably a web serial past t…[Read more]

@hope I like that version. Nice balancing of length and depth. I might just change a couple tiny things.

The dragon has changed its mind. The dragon, instead of writing an entirely new novel over the course of one month shall attempt to finish its current story. I’m already working on too much. Thanks, though!

Hmm, do you think it will look good in the review section on the back of a book?
No.
And I like that last one quite a lot. I think that works, definitely.

@hope If I were you, I would keep the prophecy stanza and delete the bolded part entirely. Although it’s poetic, it doesn’t really add anything and it’s very vague.

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Quick Critique in the forum Novel Critique Requests 8 years, 2 months ago
@Hope I’m with @Daeus… I like the longer one better because it connects me to E better, but the second one is much more concise. *shrugs* I honestly can’t choose between them. And I think you could probably do away with the bolded words altogether— the blurb is most effective as a peep into the MC’s life, as the MC’s life (very rightfully) is…[Read more]

@aella It’s a name I’ve had for a while and is just a truncated version of my real name. I’m going to have fun finding Hope too.
@Hope Do you have a novel set up? Perhaps searching for it, if you give us the name would work better.
Ot you could just find each of us and add us as a writing buddy and we wouldn’t have to search. -
