@Kate-flournoy I like cheesecake, ok?
@emma-flournoy Ha… yes. I have so many books I’ve promised that to. *sighs* Someday.
@jess Thanks. *grins* @Kate-flournoy designed the cover. We likes it very much.

@The-Happy-Bookaholic Confession… I’m not on here as much as I’d like either, due to work and time, so I’m not terribly sure who is all active. I picked the names I recognized as friends from when I used to be on here more. 🙂

After being technically published for a few weeks, I’ve officially launched my Beauty and the Beast novella, Rose of the Oath, today!!! *hands out cheesecake and ice cream* Also *lowers voice* I have a secret. The novella is actually free, for now. So if any of you happen to enjoy reading, like me, and don’t have a bunch of money to spend on books…[Read more]

Hope Ann replied to the topic Handout for Distribution Among Friends: Brainstorming Needed in the forum Stewards of the Pen 7 years, 5 months ago
I agree with @bethanysinkyroses; a smaller handout – a notecard or even business card size would be nice to give to friends. I think the brochure is great for someone who doesn’t know about Kingdom Pen but I’m picturing the audience for the smaller handout is someone who is already interested because they just had an excited friend tell them how…[Read more]

This is just too funny. All the cliches and the soy ice cream and dragons and raspberries… XD If anyone asks what Kingdom Pen is, we should just send them to this story.

@Leumeister Yep, just email the KP email. Sarah is out of the country, so I’m currently taking care of emails and can forward emails on to members who need them. 😀

@bethanysinkyroses I would think a simple business card type of design would work very well. It can have our name, tagline, and website on one side. On the other, it might have the list of things we provide, such as forum/community, courses, articles, contests, etc. What might be really cool is if there were a place on the design for people to…[Read more]

Hope Ann replied to the topic Spring Writing/Reading Goals in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 5 months ago
@dragon-snapper I generally edit the book and start the next one at the same time. I like to have several projects going for that reason. I can brainstorm one, write a second, and edit a third. Of course, it doesn’t always work out that way. I’m rewriting two books right now, but as a general rule it works well for me. 😉

@Northerner I’m considering entering… I just need to get an idea. 😉 It mainly depends on time, but seeing it is the last one and ‘only’ 20,000 words, I’ll probably think of something.

@dragon-snapper I’ve heard about it. Is there a trailer yet? I have mixed feelings about the books, but I want to see the movie if they do it well.

Hope Ann replied to the topic A Time To Die in the forum Book Discussions 7 years, 6 months ago
@winter-rose Yes, but losing a hand… Reading such book is not doing my own characters any favors. XD
One thing I found interesting about this series is that they are almost more biographical (which is kind of the point, I think). The plot didn’t seem as orderly and structured as most novels would be, rather it was a life; a string of events. I…[Read more]

@winter-rose *is here for you* I’ve read them! Love the series. The first book… yes. Murderous would be a good way to describe it. I was stunned when Parvin actually lost her hand. And it didn’t surprise me when Jude died, but still… *sniffs* He was such a great character. One of my favorite things about this series was how human Parvin was. I…[Read more]

Hope Ann replied to the topic Chapter Titles in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 6 months ago
@dragon-snapper I love chapter titles; ones that grab my attention without telling me what will happen. Or funny ones. The chapter titles in Percy Jackson, for example… I love just looking thought the table of contents because they’re so hilarious.
