Thanks @his-instrument @faithdk (at least I think that’s you, Faith. I can barely see you from way up here though. Haha!)
Yeah, I mostly agree with you, but I’m kinda leaning toward the safe side. It’s hard though, because I have an instance or two where it’s not just a character being frivolous. There’s a reason for it. I don’t think it’s wrong…[Read more]

@his-instrument Hehe. The genre…hard question since I’m not great with genres, but just think Pride and Prejudice. 🙂

Okay peoples I’m STUCK!!!! I need a title for a story, but I don’t want to give too much away. So basically it’s based on Jane Austen’s novels and Charles is lord of Birchwood, a magnificent estate. His *cough* comes and well, kicks him out, so to speak.
My sister suggested the title “The Annoying Guest” which would work as a chapter title, but…[Read more] -

Oh, guys (@daeus, @kate-flournoy, @his-instrument @dragon-snapper, @perfect-fifths)….. who IS Supreme Leader Snoke, exactly? Or what is he? I saw a weird theory circling the internet that he was a reincarnation of Mace Windu.(?) Some people think it’s Darth Sidious again. Any thoughts?

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Ren in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 11 months ago
Yep, pulling this up from the depths again and putting it back on topic…
So, I watched The Force Awakens again. I think I could probably watch it over and over and never get tired of it… because every time I watch it I see something new that I missed before.
The big realization this go around was something fairly small but I almost choked…[Read more] -

@bluejay Yah, I cried too, at the beginning, when I knew his parents would die cause how else would he get stranded in the woods, when he had to choose between Elliot and his ‘family’ and even at the end when he found Elliot again. I wasn’t expecting that, but I guess they weren’t happy to leave it like the old one, where he never sees them again.…[Read more]

Okay, so I really like reading other people’s blogs/websites. My favorites are You Write Fiction, Writing in the Light, and Writefury. So I was looking for other Christian blogs to read, mostly about writing, and I wondered if anyone on here has one.
Now, I will not allow you to say, Oh, I know this girl who has a friend who has a good one.…[Read more] -

I used to ONLY write third person, and I had no idea if it was omnipotent, or omnipresent, or whatever. Still don’t quite remember those. @Daeus what are those things?
But now I write mostly in first person. I like focusing on one person personally better, and it lets me put in weird thoughts that I probably wouldn’t if it was third person.
But…[Read more]

Okay, y’all, @his-instrument has been telling me all about this forum so I’m here to crash your party!I’ve got a quote! It’s kind of easy, and Hannah, you can’t guess it.
“You were the Chosen One…”Hint: it’s from one of the most heartbreaking scenes in cinematic history (in my opinion, that is…)

@his-instrument Thank you, I’m very happy with my word count of 31,000, especially since I hadn’t participated before, and every other story contest/challenge thing I’ve ever consider taking had much smaller words counts. One Christian story contest only allowed 1,750 TOTAL. That’s MAYBE a chapter for me. XD I didn’t end up entering anything…[Read more]

You could just call it “Lord of Birchwood.” I don’t know. Just a suggestion. Or you could call it *Cough*, since that seems to be a theme in your story. 😉
What is the genre?
@bluejay Uh oh… even the KP doctor has a cough. D’you think it’s from all that smoke from my melting the chairs yesterday? 😛
Lords of the Will
Birchwood Problems
The Lord of Birchwood
???
*hands you cough medicine* Sorry, that’s all I could come up with for now.
@dragon-snapper Yes, that smoke was terrible. So please don’t do that again. Ooo cough medicine, thank you. You know, if you were nice tempered, I could take you on as a nurse. 😉
@his-instrument Hehe. The genre…hard question since I’m not great with genres, but just think Pride and Prejudice. 🙂
How about “The Will of Birchwood”?
Or does that sound too much like a name???? :S
@bluejay
The title “The Birchwood Will” might work, if you think that “The Will of Birchwood” doesn’t work. 🙂

Hmm…a second on Lord of Birchwood.
hmm, I’m not sure, but here are some questions that might help you choose.
What lesson does the character learn?
What’s one word that could sum up the story’s conflict?
Is there anything extremely unusual about your characters or the situations they find themselves in?
What are common words used in titles for the book’s genre? (romance, I assume.…[Read more]
