@salome01w4g and @catwing, there may be a few more Aussies than there are Hannahs. Maybe we should call in support from all the Sarahs and Emilys in the world, too. 🙂 Are you both from the U.S.? Hannah was the name of the year in the U.S. the year I was born. Which is funny, because one of the reasons my mom chose my name is that she thought she…[Read more]

Hannah R. replied to the topic What You Think of When You Hear the Word "Texas" in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 3 months ago
@shannon Hi! I don’t think I’ve met you yet! As usual, I’m late to the discussion, but for what it’s worth, I’ll give my opinion.
Like most people, my first thought is a great big cowboy hat. Scorpions also come to mind, since I had friends from Texas who had to deal with scorpions.
I think of some sand and deserts, but also of bluebonnets (is…[Read more] -
Hannah R. replied to the topic What Villains Would I Use for This Story? in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 7 years, 3 months ago
@warrenluther04 I know this is going to sound bizarre, but I’ve always thought sock monkeys would make great villains. Maybe that wouldn’t work for this story, if you’re going with personifying animate objects rather than inanimate ones. Just a suggestion. Otherwise, I like the rats or mice ideas. Maybe even pigeons. Since cats chase birds, it…[Read more]

@salome01W4G Yay! Another Hannah! There are a lot of us, you know. We’re well on our way toward a successful takeover of the world by Hannahs. (Bwahaha!)
Hi, by the way! Historical fiction is a fun genre. I admire anyone who can manage it. I tried once, but it was too hard for me to stick to the facts, so I switched to fantasy. 🙂
By the way, I’m…[Read more] -

@daeus Maybe I could send you the chapter-by-chapter synopsis and the first two or three chapters of my WIP? Then you can just give me an idea of whether or not it’s structured and all that jazz.

@daeus I apologize for all the typos in the previous comment. Its not a code saying that I’ve been kidnapped, as it would be of i had sent a typo-infested text to a family member. I’m just typing on my phone, and silly old Autocorrect thinks it knows what I’m trying to say better than I do.

@daeus I’d love to help, and as school doesn’t pick back up until August 22, now is the perfect time for me to get something done in a month. Your story sounds fascinating!
My WIL is not completed. Its an I it 60,000 words long, but I still would really love some feedback on it, even if you only do the first 20,000 words or so, because I’m so…[Read more] -

Thanks for the tip, @dragon-snapper! And I’d love to have you beta-read or do a manuscript swap if you’re still willing. You can go to the contact page at my website, hisinstrumentblog.wordpress.com, and give me your email that way. Or if you’d rather, we can go through Hope Ann.

Hannah R. replied to the topic Scripture Memorization! in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 4 months ago
I just finished memorizing Romans 1-3. My goal is to memorize the entire book of Romans, because I think it contains a lot of excellent witnessing verses. My problem is retaining Scripture. I find that once I’ve memorized several books, I have trouble reviewing them all regularly enough because it just takes so long. Does anyone have tips on that?

Hi everybody!
About a year ago, I created a website. I got it partially set up, then realized that I know nothing about websites, and didn’t touch it for…well, a year.
During the course of that year, I learned a little more about web design, but I never actually went back and applied it to by website. Until I found myself in a car for fourteen…[Read more] -

Hey everyone!
First, I just discovered a fantastic thing called Word Weavers. It is a writing group that meets monthly in person. They have chapters all over the U.S. They critique each other’s work and discuss any questions or problems they might be having. Best of all, it’s a Christian organization. It’s teen-friendly. I just became a member and…[Read more] -

Hello fellow Christian young women!
Last year I discovered a book called The Lost Art of True Beauty by Leslie Ludy, and it changed my life. Leslie Ludy has lots of materials for helping Christian women stay focused on Christ in a fallen world and a self-focused culture. I highly, highly recommend this book, as well as any of her other books, like…[Read more] -

@dragon-snapper Sure! I have discovered that the publishing process takes a lot longer than I thought, so I’m spending some more time researching before I try to publish (besides, I just acquired a published writing mentor, so that should be helpful). But in the meantime, I’d love as much help polishing as I can get. If you give me your e-mail I…[Read more]
