Gabriel led her away, turning a corner. Exhaustion was settling in, causing him to stumble, catching himself before he fell. “Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.” He released her hand. “It’s out of sight now. Shall we continue searching, or do you need a minute?”

She awkwardly shuffled around to face away, covered her eyes with one hand, and took the Protector’s hand with the other.

Pro tip – if I think KP might glitch, or if my post will be of substantial length, I write it in an email draft. That way I can copy-paste instead of rewrite.
