@dragon-snapper I’m leaving now. I’ve finished off “Sacrifice” and have continued on my other story. I got 698 words which brings me to the total of 13,901 words. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I think War Room would have to be my favourite Christian good theme movie. The power of prayer is amazing and I think War Room portrays it very well.
As for my other movie…I’ll have to think. Okay, so I stopped typing and thought and looked in our movie drawer. I think Frozen is fair close to top. The fact that a kiss wasn’t the…[Read more]

Whoopee! I made it to 10,000 words in my WWI story “Sacrifice”. Which means 12,502 words total. This is so exciting. 🙂

One of my absolute favorite movies, guys, is Rigoletto. It’s kinda old-ish so most of you probably haven’t even heard of it, but it is SO GOOD. The theme is tremendously well done— ‘an ugly heart is worse than an ugly face,’ and ‘Ignorance is the ugliest prejudice of all.’
And it’s completely a family film— we all watch it, down to the…[Read more]

@Daeus yes, that’s better. Great point. Did I mention I love Kylo Ren? 😀

@kate-flournoy I guess that’s true. The Hans scene still works though, because the whole thing was how much compassion Ben felt for him, but he still killed him anyways. I guess that’s how I should have phrased my point. Make the villains feel their consciences very strongly and then go out and deny them.
@anne-of-lothlorien Second person is…[Read more]

@Sarah-H no, I hadn’t. That’s so cool. *goes and scribbles down ‘glow-in-the-dark dragons’ in her notebook* This could be really fun. 😀

@Anne-of-Lothlorien I like the last four choices— without the ‘the’.

Yes to the villain things, @Hope @Daeus. Also the Kylo Ren example is a little more drastic than we usually deal with— after all, we’re usually dealing with humans, not jedi, and humans can have compassion without completely ruining their reputation as a bad guy because compassion is just compassion, not ‘the light side’. But good example just…[Read more]

I agree with Hope. Good villains aren’t just villains with lots of soft spots, humor, tough pasts, or good intentions. Good villains have to be absolutely evil. Using my good buddy Kylo Ren again, he killed the jedi, killed his dad, was fine with the first order completely obliterating ten planets and everyone on them, had fits of rage, and tried…[Read more]

@anne-of-lothlorien I tend to write the more human, complex villains and I’m moving even more in that direction.

@Anne-of-Lothlorien human, definitely. They’re so much more interesting.

@anne-of-lothlorien The title is Sacrifice. (At the moment) I think it will stick, but I don’t tend to decide on my titles until at the end.

@overcomer Oh, okay. I’m taking a break no for lunch as I have been writing since I tagged you above (with a twenty minute break for a singing lesson). I’ll see what I’m doing after lunch and if I can join you, I’ll tag you.
Btw I got 1613 in that time. 😉 - Load More
