@hannah-krynicki Re-education? Sound more like brainwashing. Definitely like the Soviet Union. That little paragraph about the pups being taken from their mother is foreshadowing for something later in the book.

@hannah-krynicki I love that thought! I had never thought about the “savior” role that way before in the context of the pigs, but that is an awesome comparison and so true!

His main objective in writing this story seems to be to convince others of whatever points he’s trying to get across in his writing.

I agree that Orwell has some points to get across to the reader. We’ll find out what those points are pretty soon. 🙂

@spradlin Those are some great thoughts to chew on. 😉 I think that Orwell is telling the story for his readers, mostly. His main objective in writing this story seems to be to convince others of whatever points he’s trying to get across in his writing.
