@Koryn-Koch Oooh–that’s the real question isn’t it? xD Burn has to be my favorite, followed by Wait for It and Satisfied.

@celticcailin Neat. Well, you picked a good time to join then since the past month was all about allegories. 😉 When do you think you’ll begin writing one?

@shannon For the past four years I’ve been attending Ketoctin OPC in Northern Virginia. I’m in the middle of moving to North Carolina right now, so I’ll be working on finding a new church family.

Welcome to the site @destiny! That’s really awesome that you do game design work and all. I played around some with that kind of stuff with MIT’s Scratch program, but never got into it enough to get to the level you’re at. 😛

Josiah DeGraaf replied to the topic I'm concerned my story is a bad allegory in the forum Fantasy 7 years, 3 months ago
@allison-grace Kate and Daeus already said a lot of things I would say, so the one thing I’ll add to this discussion is that, in my opinion, a lot of it depends on how central the allegorical elements of the story are to the story as a whole. If a lot of your story’s theme and message derives from the allegorical elements (placing it in the genre…[Read more]

Welcome to the site, @koryn-koch! I believe I remember seeing your name around the YWW groups. 🙂 High-five for another Hamilton lover. I listen to that soundtrack way too much. xD What type of fiction do you like to write?

@EpicAddie2 That makes sense; one of the most helpful books I’ve read on that topic is 12 Editors Tackle the 12 Fatal Flaws of Fiction Writing by C.S. Laskin (actually did a review of it here: https://kingdompen.org/kp-book-review-5-editors-tackle-the-12-fatal-flaws-of-fiction-writing-by-c-s-lakin-et-al/) If you get the chance to read it, it should…[Read more]

@SeekJustice The one YA book I’ve read with an older protagonist is Wayne Thomas Batson’s Sword in the Stars. Haven’t seen it done anywhere else, and have likewise read that you shouldn’t have YA protagonists much above college age. That being said, it’s also good for a protagonist to be older than the reader, since apparently younger readers find…[Read more]

@northerner Realm-Makers might be in PA next year?? 😮 That would be awesome! I’ve been wanting to attend Realm Makers for a while and will totally attend if it’s in PA.
@graciegirl The Christian Writer’s Guide has an excellent conference guide (I was paging through it while at the Greater Philly Christian Writer’s Conference this past week) if…[Read more]

@graciegirl I think a mixture of conscious and unconscious EiLs is fine because that’s the way people act in real life. Some people know exactly why they do something, and other people don’t. Given that, it’s actually probably preferable that you mix it up some, since that will give you more to work with as you continue to use these EiLs later on…[Read more]
