@revayah1 Yep! Quick note on tagging: some people like me are weird and have a tagging name that’s different from their display name (mine is @aratrea). To find someone’s tag, just click their name to see what it is on their profile, or if you hover over their name and look at the web address it links to, the last part of that web address should…[Read more]

@perfectfifths Got it. A slow process like that can definitely be very effective and I’d recommend that as a natural way to do it. You may find, though, that it still helps to have a specific moment after the slow trust process where Amrei is forced to make a decision and chooses to trust Nylian at a pivotal moment to really hammer Amrei’s change home.

Welcome to the site @Revayah1! Glad you found us. 🙂 Yeah, there’s a pretty large INFJ percentage both on the forum and on the staff (though I think ENFJ is the most popular staff type at the moment…) Needless to say you’re in good company. 😉
Also tagging @christi-eaton for the Mark of the Lion reference.

@belegteleri Unfortunately even the highest admin levels are not enough to overcome the limits our forum software places on us on that front. 🙁

@perfectfifths He’ll need to sign into your account to watch the lessons, but he can post in these forums on his own account. He should already have access, but let me know if he doesn’t!

Josiah DeGraaf replied to the topic Hello! I'm Aislinn in the forum Start HERE 7 years, 3 months ago
@aislinn-mollisong I only had time to look through the prologue and chapter one, but here’s a couple things I noted:
The prose feels very choppy and is very bare-bones. Try fleshing out your descriptions more and varying the sentence structure for the writing to feel more smooth.
You do a lot of telling as opposed to showing, which is probably…[Read more]

@catwing LOLOLOLOLOL! I do love farms! I don’t actually live on one (we just have on dog named Penny and then a vegetable garden), but I worked on a farm in Costa Rica for three months over the summer and I’m an agriculture student in college, so I work as a student assistant on another farm here during the fall and spring.

@kate-flournoy Well, in any effect, the turf is more welcoming with two people throwing confetti than just one, so I’m happy. 😉 <3

@kate-flournoy I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M SO LATE TO THIS PARTY! But congratulations, girl!! *ceremoniously passes over large box of confetti* Let me just say though, I think a title like “The Cooler Community Happiness Director” would be more accurate. 😉 Keep being awesome! Can’t wait to see all the cool things you keep doing here at KP!

@emerald-flyer Makes sense. Wayne Thomas Batson’s Dark Sea Annals are probably my favorite works of Christian fantasy and he’s currently re-releasing them this month, so if you’re looking for new books in the genre, that would be my recommendation. 😉

@perfectfifths Cool; to expand that a bit, putting otherwise-unsympathetic characters in sympathetic relationships can be really crucial for building empathy between the characters and the audience. If a sympathetic character likes an otherwise-unsympathetic person, it’s easier for the audience to like that person as well, which sounds like what…[Read more]
