¡SÃ, mi amiga! Tú tienes razón. 🙂 Muchas gracias por muestras este a mÃ.@feedingmygoldfish I must have missed this when you first posted! I’ve been learning Spanish for about 3-4 years so I’d be willing to try my hand at the poem if you still have it. 🙂 I’m not super fluent but I can try my best. 😀

@Dragon-Snapper what @FeedingMyGoldfish said. 😀
I’m afraid I know next to nothing about singing at all— I just love to do it and so I do, and I’ve learned along the way. I did look up a few tutorials on breath control starting out, but otherwise it’s all just been trial and error— and practice. *evil smile*
I guess if I had one piece of…[Read more] -

@FeedingMyGoldfish Wheee! Yes, I’ve tried the higher-on-bow grip before, but never long enough to get comfortable with it. 😛 I should do it more.
@ClaireC I’m F3 to F5…so that makes me like a cross between alto and mezzosoprano. I love singing, but mostly when I’m alone, or just having fun. 😛 I carry tunes well but I don’t really have technique.

@feedingmygoldfish 😀 Thank you. It is really fun to play either style (don’t ask me which one is my favorite, because I’m not really sure). A weird thing about me playing guitar though, is that I can’t read tablature, which is what most guitarists use to play melodies. Instead, I read sheet music. 😛

Snapper replied to the topic Singing in the forum Music 7 years, 8 months ago
@feedingmygoldfish I do both classical and contemporary, but the classical isn’t as fancy as some people might do it. I can play a melody very easily, but if it has some accompaniment, it may take a bit longer for my fingers to figure it out.

@FeedingMyGoldfish Hey, thanks! I’ll take a look. I’ve looked up how to sound fiddly so many times…I’m self taught so most of my info comes from where I can find it online. But nothing I’ve read about fiddling has stuck well. I want to be able to play like a violinist and a fiddler. 😛
Specifically Irish is good. I like Irish/British style…[Read more] -

@FeedingMyGoldfish Oramentation, aka grace notes. Right? Some of them at least. Those things are so fun, for violin and voice.
And you used to FIDDLE? *gasp* Please, tell me how I can make my violin sound fiddly! -

@feedingmygoldfish Ah…it’s quite complicated actually. I did some minor singing for a children’s group when I was a lot younger, then for a while I didn’t do much singing. Now, I only sing with guitar. However, I have no training, and I don’t do it regularly either. But there’s a problem when I sing as a dragon. I tend to melt stuff. 😛

@FeedingMyGoldfish nice! That’s great that your mom could teach you. My mom taught me piano and basically began my musical ‘career’. 😉
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be called ornamentation. What do you primarily like to sing?
I have preferences, but if I’m honest I’ll pretty much sing anything that has the faintest suggestion of a good tune, with…[Read more] -

@feedingmygoldfish I’ve got INFJ friends and they’re very intelligent. The stereotype of F-types not being able to think logically is false. There’s also more of a difference between INTJ and INFJ than T or F, they both have different functions as well…

@feedingmygoldfish I’m definitely not the best with hugs but will allow it for a few people. A complete INTJ here. What type are you?

@feedingmygoldfish, I like Amy Lowell too, what little I’ve read of her. I sympathize about the community college’s lack of options. I started at one of those, got fed up with it (apparently a home-schooler’s standards are way too high for American educational systems to satisfy), and started at another college that was closer to liberal…[Read more]
