I’ve seen the Dawn Treader…I’ve seen all three of the ‘new’ Narnia movies. I very much enjoy them, even though they have changed the stories from the books at times. With some things, like the Narnia movies, I’m able to separate the book and movie and enjoy both. But I can’t do that with everything…namely Percy Jackson. The movie was simply…[Read more]

I have seen that one— and personally, I didn’t like it as much as I was hoping I would. No disparagement to those who do— it just wasn’t as great for me as I was expecting. I liked the book a million times better.
A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that I’m completely spoiled when it comes to actors… my parents have always been…[Read more]

Thank you, Daeus. The… hm… hypothetical guy I referenced is generally a pretty laid back, cheerful, happy personality, who likes to joke and tease and make people look at him like he’s crazy. Not that he doesn’t feel grief as keenly as the next person, but he chooses to make light of it because being grumpy about it won’t change anything. When…[Read more]

Some of these questions have been answered already, but essentially the original concept of Kingdom Cinema died because of a lack of submissions. I’ve kind of re-branded aspects of it in starting up my writing advice video series that airs once a month, but we are still open to submissions.

Sounds good. I’ve probably embarrassed myself enough for the week. 40 kg or so I should think. Right on schedule.
Boy, I was just about to use the forbidden word, but I won’t. Personally, I like it just for the sound and to give the impression of a kinda laid back sort of style which is rather my disposition on a form. Seeing as you dislike it…[Read more]

Yep, that worked. I’ll be sending the first part off later today or tomorrow, probably.

Well in your hypothetical scenario, hmm… I don’t experience many hypothetical situations myself so its hard to speak very authoritatively. Of course it depends on the person. In such a situation, I do think one might cry, but you see, to my knowledge (which is very limited. Anyone to second this?) men don’t usually just start crying (when they…[Read more]

@Kate-Flournoy I got your e-mail. 🙂 I’ll send along the first part in the next few days. Glad you liked the first paragraphs…I just hope the rest of the story holds up as well. 😉

Okey dokey. I did it. Thanks so much, Hope. I’m really looking forward to this. I read the first paragraph you had up on your blog, and… well… I’m hooked. You caught me. That can be a good thing, or that can be a bad thing. It depends upon your perspective, I suppose. 😉

@Kate-Flournoy that works…and if you get too busy, that’s fine. Life happens. 😉 There’s a link to my blog in the first post (the blue ‘here’). Just contact me though the contact page…which should be working. I’ll get your e-mail that way and you can just say who you are and that you’re from here. 🙂

I like it too. 🙂
Okay, I talked to my mom, and she says we’ll have time for it. I can’t make any promises as to when I will have it finished for you, but hopefully it should be before the end of the year. We’re just starting to get back into homeschool after welcoming our tenth sibling into the home 😀 so the schedule is going to be really,…[Read more] -

@Jada: I just finished Prophet and have the next one ordered from the library. It’s really good so far! 🙂 I can see a few Peleg Chronicles similarities…
@Hope: First books of the infinite, or Peleg chronicles?

Thanks for the tips, Daeus. I have an… ahem… hypothetical case to present. Just a question, actually. Say a young man (sixteen, almost seventeen) was thrown into command of a tired, demoralized, losing army, while his father (who had been the commander) and his uncle (with whom he is very close) and his sweetheart (enough said) are captives of…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy ‘word wielder’, I like that. 🙂
I like to get a few different opinions on my books…I don’t have an set number of beta readers (it’s pretty much anyone who’s interested). As for length, this book has grown at least 10,000 words since the first draft and I’ve another book that is about twice its length…and I can’t figure out how…[Read more]

How many people do you want to beta read your book, Hope? Because I can’t say for sure, but I may be able to as well. Considering it is only 125 or so pages (which is an excellent length for a book; how do you do it? Mine end up five hundred plus!) I could probably squeeze it in. I’ll talk to my mom about it, and if she says we’ll be able to do…[Read more]
