Okay, when I read ‘if you think of any other kind of futuristic technology’ I got this crazy image of us all walking around with shock-collars on and some sadistic governmental committee hovering over a glowing panel of instruments and monitoring our every move… which is weird, since I’m not a conspiracy theorist.
But let’s not pursue that…[Read more]

@daeus just thought I’d let you know, I finished ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’. What did I think of it? Don’t ask me that right now. If I start talking now, I’ll never be able to stop. Give me time to digest it all.
But I think it’s safe to say… I loved it. There are very, very few authors who can elicit such a deep emotional response in me as…[Read more] -

Here’s a fun topic. 🙂 What type of weapons do you think we’ll be using around 200 years in the future? Set aside for the moment ideas of weapons of mass destruction and all, right now I’m trying to think of personal weapons and weapons an oppressive government might use against rebels.
Currently, both sides carry a mix of what we’d consider…[Read more]

I’ve written scrips for small movies my siblings and I have made. Can’t say they were very good, but we used them. 🙂

You know you’re a writer when you drive past a harvested corn field, see one stalk somehow standing tall in the surrounding stubble, and immediately start thinking of story ideas.
Also, when you have a cloak that you made for a movie and you really want to wear it to church sometime (though I don’t know how much that longing actually has to do…[Read more]

I like Dr. Lorry too, but Sydney Carton completely blew me away.
Miss Pross is another great character, and Lucie too, only Lucie and Charles Darnay were sort of… ideally perfect. Sydney was the personification of flawed, struggling humanity who rose above every mean and petty thing in the end and found the strength to sacrifice himself for…[Read more]

You know you’re a writer when your laptop consists of an overloaded Microsoft Word, movie soundtracks and a weathered keyboard.

Well… I’ve written some nonprofessional play scripts, 🙂 a couple monologues, and even though we haven’t written them down, my siblings and I have created a few screen plays!
Which is your favorite to write? -

@Mark-McGuire— yes! They did it without any of the fancy modern computer stuff, and in consequence it looked amazingly real. That’s a win for the cinematographers, though, not the storytellers! But yes, it’s great. It definitely contributes to the overall quality of the experience.
Hey, what are your thoughts on C3PO, guys? He’s a droid— not…[Read more]

And then there are the home grown effects, they look real, not “render farmed” It’s something that looks different, realer.
Or something like that. -

I am so putting those faerie dragon flies in one of my stories! That is, if you don’t mind Daeus…..
Go right ahead. They’re better in a book than just on this page.

You know you’re a writer when your mom asks you if there is anything fun you want to do tonight and you decide it would be best to read your book like you have been doing every night, and then when she asks you if there is anything else, you suggest she help you with your editing.

You know you are a writer when you hear a song and go, “Oh! That would go perfect in that one scene I am working on!”
YES! YES YES YES! Absolutely!

Yes! I completely know what you mean. It can actually be annoying to think of something new every time you go somewhere different. 😛
