@catwing I’m working on the joys of editing a manuscript. I’ve been in post-production of this thing for about two years now. Its a fantasy novel called Prince of the Barbarians. I’m almost done with this round of editing, though. My next step is going to be to find an actual professional editor. But I’ll be working on that tonight until about…[Read more]

Hannah R. replied to the topic Should I be publishing my new work to my blog? in the forum Publishing & Platform 9 years, 1 month ago
Hi @josiahdeboer! I don’t think I’ve met you yet. Welcome to Kingdom Pen!
I’ve been going through a similar situation as a fiction author, trying to build a following through blogging. I just started my blog (hisinstrumentblog.wordpress.com), but I plan to blog about Scripture, writerly things, and whatever else is on my heart (which could have to…[Read more] -

@daughteroftheking At first I wasn’t sure about the last one, but then it occurred to me that it’s absolutely perfect for getting a new idea. Because, firstly, my ideas usually come in the form of candlesticks, not lightbulbs, because I’m a little archaic. And secondly, they absolutely smack me in the head and say “hello” in a very suave manner.…[Read more]

Hannah R. replied to the topic When is it "to late" to outline your story? in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 1 month ago
@salome01w4g I just figured out that it’s great to outline in post-it notes. I write each plot point on a different note and stick it on my bedroom wall. Each character has their own color, and I write the year/date of the occurrence in one of the top corners so it’s consistent throughout. So you’ll end up with a line of post-it notes all across…[Read more]

@ck4always Ah. Do you have a google account? If you don’t, you should really get one. If you do, you’re all set. just google “google drive”. It’s an awesome file storage system. From there, click the “new” button and select “document”. Once your document is ready, you can share it by clicking the blue “share” button in the top right of the screen.…[Read more]

@ck4always Yes. A google doc would work best, but you can just post that in the thread. Post it under fiction > novel critiques.

@CK4always let me know if you decide to and I’ll help you with the tags. They can be a bit tricky, especially for a newbie. 😉

@CK4always if you’re looking for feedback you can certainly post a link to a google doc and ask around for those interested in giving it a read through. Unfortunately I can’t because I’m up to my ears already, 😛 but I’m sure there are several people here who’d love the opportunity.

@ck4always The writer’s corner is an accountability system. Say you want to write for half an hour, but you’re worried you’ll get distracted. You come on here and ask if anyone wants to write with you for half an hour. Knowing that there is someone else dedicated to staying on track for the same amount of time helps you keep from wandering off.
