@hope Hello, just dropping a quick line to let you know I’ve finished critiquing the section of King’s Armor you sent me. How do you want me to send it back?

Wow, good ideas, Daeus! That last one… that would be the most negative of negative character arches… I don’t know if I could take that…
But good ideas just the same. 🙂Now, I have another question. I’m sure you’re thrilled to hear it.
What about vengeance in a dystopian setting, where there is no law, and no justice? Who is to administer…[Read more]

Current twist options available are:
1. The wronged person could take vengeance on the wrong people
2. Or he could accidentally take vengeance on someone he loves … and then find out (Already claimed. Refer to my novel to come out in I have no idea when.)
3. Or his vengeance plots could backfire and nearly (or actually) destroy him
4. Or he…[Read more] -

I am almost halfway through it— with Franz d’Epinay and Albert de Morcerf at the Carnival of Rome, just after Albert got caught by Luigi Vampa and Franz is taking the Count with him to effect Albert’s release. And yes, I’m afraid I’m hooked for life. Don’t you dare ask me who my favorite character is— there is, and only will ever be, one…[Read more]

It’s a pity your character is only hypothetical. He might do well in a story.

Thanks Reagan. That’s kind of the way I was leaning, but I wanted to make sure. And you’re right— it would make it clearer what he’s going through if he goes around snapping at people and glaring and being impatient and all that. It fits right in with my… um… hypothetical situation, especially since this character doesn’t usually get angry…[Read more]

Whahahahaha!!!! You are doomed to be a Cristo fan. No one can escape!
Alright I’m back to normal now.
I’ll answer your last questions first. The hero (let us say protagonist rather) need not kill, but something drastic must happen if he goes through with his vengeance, for horrors reap horrors.
As for not promoting vengeance while using it,…[Read more]

Daeus replied to the topic Not editing-writing in the forum General Writing Discussions 10 years, 11 months ago
What type of editing are you doing? Is it grammatical editing or literary editing? If it is grammatical editing, you may just being obstructing your creative juices, but there can be merit to doing literary editing as you go. By literary editing I mean things like giving your sentences a better flow, making the scenery more vivid, or polishing off…[Read more]

Hm… I don’t like French words. 😛 Maybe because it also took ME forever to realize THAT word was the same as the one I heard people say as ‘ron day voo’. The pronunciation is crazy.
Another good one is Diaphanous.
