Oh my, things have been happening on my precious little thread and I wasn’t even here to see it. No time to spare though. Keep talking about how bad heroes can be made extreeeeeeeeemely attractive (not villains mind you, bad heroes). Yes, you see, the show must go on.

You know your a writer when your favorite part about driving is looking at the faces in the other cars and trying to catch a glimpse of their story.

Hey y’all, I just picked up a little booklet on torture (from a biblical perspective) here at the freedom conference. Just barely got a look at it but I think it will help us. Will post more when I read it.

I know where you can find some words. There’s this really cool book I’ve read, and it’s really helpful when it comes to words.
It’s called the dictionary. 😛

You know you’re a writer when your own villains give you nightmares.

He looks like quite an interesting villain though.

Yes! That’s what we’ve got going here. In the first few posts we have two friends, Walter and Alex.
Walter’s family was killed by terrorists, and he suspected Alex of conspiring with the terrorists to that end. So he went and became a villain (I make it sound so easy, don’t I?) and then he killed Alex’s family. The difference is, Alex didn’t…[Read more] -

Okay, so we have a lot of material to work with. Please, anyone feel free to join in.
Unless you don’t like these kind of exercises, in which case feel free to sit on the sidelines and laugh up your sleeves while I and whoever else so chooses make fools of ourselves. 😛
So. Walter. What do we mean by charming and mesmerizing? Is it his smile?…[Read more]

Snakes and spiders! Yikes… I know one person that would be harmed by that! Permanently. Me. 😉
But in all seriousness, you have good points, Rolena. I agree. I have no scenes where the ‘good guys’ are torturing anybody… well, one kinda good guy that you don’t really like until later and who definitely still has some problems.
But you’re…[Read more] -

@writefury congrats again! I really enjoyed your prompt. ‘Repeated shoplifting of Skittles…’ so fun. We got a really cool prompt for this week, didn’t we? It made me think of Hornblower. 😀

Are you saying this exercise isn’t working for you? If so, don’t worry about it. Different systems work for different people.

Okay. Good plan.
Are we outlining a full fledged story, or just as far as it pertains to Walter’s development? I’m cool with either one.

The more impossible the better, though packing an elephant in a suitcase is probably a stretch. I carrying things in almost impossible places would be a good one though. Also disappearing and escape tricks. Also making things look different then they really are or totally faking a scenario using magic to confuse Walter.

Thanks, Kate! 😀 I got the idea because the guy on the left looked like he was wearing a mask. Though asking my siblings, apparently I was the only one who saw it. 😛
Yeah, this next one’s going to be fun! Interesting, the details… did you notice that the guy is wearing a suit and tie? But yet that’s the hull of a wooden boat and his hands are…[Read more]
Ooh… I didn’t notice the suit and tie. I noticed the wooden boat and the ropes, though…
I’m going to have fun with this one.
I mean I always do, but some more than others. 😀
