@ethryndal Well, it’s not as if you spelled it ‘Roden’ with an ‘e’ because that’s only one letter away from Rodent. Rodyn, for me, is pronounced with the ‘in’ type of sound. And I like @Christi-eaton ‘s idea of the villain using it.

@Ethryndal It did not until you said something 🙂
But I’m fine with the name, I like it actually. Besides, people are always going to find something little like that. Plus there is no sense changing his name because if you are satisfied with it, there is nothing else that will fit. I thought about changing the name of a pirate character of mine.…[Read more]

@Ethryndal, I had a thought this morning about the staff — Robin Hood usually has a Little John, and Little John’s weapon of choice is a quarterstaff. . . so that could work perfectly. 🙂

@PerfectFifths, that’s a good pun! If he had a friend who was somehow related or compared to a staff, whether his name was related to the word, or he was tall and thin, or very faithful, that would be a fun joke to have in the story (@ethryndal, I hope you don’t hate puns. . .).

Well, if he is a rebel maybe you could put a word like “Rebel” in his name, perhaps The Rebel Arrow or something with the word “Renegade”
@ethryndalHopefully that can spark something for ya. 🙂 Quite honestly, I’m terrible when it comes to names (especially if they are supposed to sound “cool”) 😉

@ethryndal I love the word ‘blade’. Like The Black Blade or the Glittering Arrow. Ok, so maybe those aren’t the best. But a cool name with ‘blade’ or ‘arrow’ could be fun.

Freedom Rider? The Rogue Knight? Or maybe there is a legend of some hero who saves people, and they start calling Rodyn the legendary hero’s name? @ethryndal

Hm… what color does he primarily wear? He could be Red Arrow, or maybe Blue Sword, or… or.. I’m really bad at this. 😛 Brown Boots. XD This is not good. Um… you can really use any color you want coupled with anything associated with him that sounds right. Not knowing tons about him, I couldn’t pick something for him as perfect as you could.…[Read more]

@Ethryndal Okay, no one wants the disappointment of Toothless for the rest of their life. 😛
And Lord of the Rings geek compulsion…I can’t imagine what that’s like. (*coughcoughcough*)
@Dragon-Snapper I haven’t read them…I’ve only seen the 1st HTTYD movie. Don’t melt me.

@Aysia-Serene Fashionably late I am, but welcome, welcome, and thrice welcome!!
Is your name pronounced like Asia, the country?
Oh my, what is that weird noise…I think it’s a master plot to drive their audiences insane so they can make zillions of dollars or something.
Yup, that it is. With every movie series that does that. It w…[Read more]

@ethryndal @aysia-serene well, I had written a reply, but then I accidentally closed out of the tab before I was able to click submit. Oops. 😛
Anyhoo…I think the producers are just plain evil to make us wait two, three years for HTTYD3 to come out. The thing about the episodes is that they are ‘rewatchable’. I’ve ‘rewatched’ many of the…[Read more] -

@gideon-swodon This is a really good subject I’ve been wondering about… a friend and I were just talking about it! I have enjoyed multiple first person points of view when reading it. But definitely making it clear whose point of view it is is a key… hmmm… Ooo, that’s a really good point, @ethryndal!

@ethryndal Awesomeness? I also love the Twins. They are hilarious!
And well, they have to come out with another season, because season 3 ended with a cliffhanger (not saying anything else) but it wouldn’t make sense for them to do otherwise. It’s just taking them forever. - Load More

@Emma-Flournoy. Aww, thanks. We were going to go to the Academy of Arts production of Prince Caspian in South Carolina, but the performance we were going to up being canceled due to bad weather. So it’s kind of an indirect answer to prayer, because now we can exchange our tickets for a later performance when, Lord willing, Mom will be feeling b…[Read more]

I hope she’ll be better soon, and I’ll keep praying for y’all.
I assume that production’s a play? That sounds like so. much. fun!
Yeah, it’s a play. Last year, they did one of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and it was SO GOOD. LWW being one of my favorite things ever (book and movie), I wasn’t expecting much, but they really did an incredible job on it. So good, in fact, that Doug Gresham actually flew over from England for the premiere of PC. I thought that was kind of neat. 🙂
SO. MUCH. FUN!!
I don’t know who Doug Gresham is, but that sounds significant. 😛
Oh, sorry. Doug Gresham is C. S. Lewis’s step-son. He’s kind of significant. 😉
@Ethryndal OH!! Yeah, that sounds significant. 😛 Wow.
