I’ve only been to Texas once, but I have great memories there! It’s such a fun place.
When I think of Texas, I think of cowboys–probably the biggest stereotype of them all, but there it is. I also think of food, like burgers or barbecue. *shrugs* not sure if this helps?

@emma-flournoy – EXCITED 😀
@PerfectFifths – It would be great if you could visit the Creation Museum & Ark Encounter sometime! They’re both AMAZING 😀 😀 😀 (And the NOAH Conference is AWESOME too. I went last year and LOVED it!!)

@graciegirl – thank you for sharing. I wrote their family down in my prayer journal. I will be praying for them. That’s truly awful and I’m sure extremely difficult to fathom. 🙁 “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away…BLESSED be the name of the Lord.”

Hey all!
I’m wondering if any of you would be interested in a beta reading a short story of mine. It’s titled “Origami Cranes” and is about 2,500 words long. I’m hoping to enter it in a competition and I’d like a couple of opinions and suggestions about how to improve it.
thanks, 😀 -
SeekJustice replied to the topic Research for writing in the forum Historical 9 years, 2 months ago
@Salome01w4g lots of people use Ancestry for researching family history and I’ve heard its very good, though I haven’t actually used it myself. Other than that, @Northerner has some really good tips which I completely agree with. I’m not really up there in American history, is the Revolutionary War the war for independence from England? I have an…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy I think AiG and Creation Mag are connected, though I’m not 100% certain 😉 Ah, okay, I knew they were also connected somehow 🙂 Yes, I do want to come and see it sometime, but who knows when that will be?? :O

@PerfectFifths Oh wow, that’s cool. Their magazine is called Answers, but I know there’s a Creation magazine too…I didn’t think they were connected though.
Well, the life-size Ark is a different feature, on a different site, but still by AiG. In the same general vicinity, more or less…but it’s its own attraction. Just opened last year. AND…[Read more] -

@emma-flournoy Oh yeah, I know about AiG and Creation magazine. They’re great. My grandparents (and I’m always amazed to hear this) know quite a few of the people involved (my grandfather was even featured in Creation Magazine once 😀 ). I think we even went to see Ken Ham speak once. And my friend (American 😉 ) recently told me about that…[Read more]

@PerfectFifths Yah, I was already possessed of the sad knowledge you wouldn’t be there. 🙁 But I appreciate the thought. 😀
I think it’s basically just a big conference with tons of talks on conservative, Christian, Creationist, family, etc. stuff. Hosted near the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, with Answers in Genesis. Heard of those things?…[Read more] -

@emma-flournoy This might go without saying because I live nowhere near Kentucky, but your forum looked lonely 😉 No I’m not going to the Noah Conference. What’s it about? 😀

SeekJustice replied to the topic Names with meanings in the forum Characters 9 years, 2 months ago
@alia, I love names with meanings too! Here are a couple that I found using Behind the Name (a really great site to use for finding names)
Azar–Persian–Fiery
Keahi–Hawaiian–the fire
Rue–English–rue is a type of bitter herb
Merari–Hebrew–bitter (its actually a male name, but I like the sound of it)
Min–Chinese/Korean–quick, clever,…[Read more] -

@that_writer_girl_99 Har, har. Nah, I’m afraid it wasn’t. XD (It’s my About page that’s called for such drastic measures. Grrr.)
But my sister did exclaim, “It’s a catastrophe!” at some point today, and I totally snapped my head up from my calligraphy. XD
I’ll catch you another time. 🙂 -
