@emma-flournoy A few years ago I looked for that historian’s work on the Internet. Apparently, his works are long out of print, but they do still exist as collectors’ items- very expensive, of course.

@emma-flournoy It turned out really well, actually. There were two people who were attacking him and using bad language instead of logic to argue, but now they are actually on friendly terms, although they still disagree. I think he was more able to reach the others who were on the sidelines and weren’t really sure what to believe.

@emma-flournoy At that time, I believe there was still quite a bit of information about him. Henty cited his sources in his preface; there was one historian in particular whose name I cannot remember.

@emma-flournoy The history itself is so inspiring, I forget my objections to his style and find myself caught up in the wonder of it all. I love Scotland, and besides, I can’t help but admire someone when they, alone and without even the hope of succeeding, stand up against the might of a foreign invader because they love their country, and no one…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy I didn’t know it was about William Wallace! Now I want to read it. Have you read In Freedom’s Cause by Henty? I don’t like most Hentys, but that is one of my favorite books.

Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you @Aratrea. It would be awesome if I could get in touch with a pre-law student form PHC! If not possible, no worries. 🙂 (My email is 143artsygal@gmail.com) I really like the idea of a smaller school 😀
@his-instrument I have been to teen pact and will be returning this year! 🙂 I really want to go to…[Read more]

@Winter-rose I haven’t seen Old Fashioned. Thank you for telling me about it! I’ll try to find it. I’ve been wishing that there was a good movie that I could recommend to my friends who don’t understand courtship; maybe that will be it. 🙂
@emma-flournoy I haven’t read Scottish Chiefs, but more than one person has told me to read it. What is it about?

Haha. No worries. That clears that problem up. 😉 I have finished going through and fixing up the Golden Conch with your critiques. Would you like it back to read it again? And to red text again? 🙂

@emma-flournoy I studied Davy Crockett many years ago, (I was homeschooled 🙂 ), and I remember being very impressed by his life. Actually, the first story I ever wrote was about him……wow, that was a long time ago. Anyway, I’ve never watched any movies or read any fiction about him, so I don’t know if the movie is biased or not, but I have a…[Read more]

Well…I kind figured that, but it was a bit hard to tell. You see, I knew Jenz was your fav, and then you go and say Lucas is. Maybe I should have warned you that I am the type of person who takes everything seriously. 🙂 But I can laugh at myself when some looks at me and says, “Um it was a joke.” 🙂
Does that make any sense at all? 😛
@emma-flournoy-
Well, I thought I’d said Jenz was my favorite enough that you’d know I was joking…Lucas was my least favorite. 😛 Sorry… 😀 Glad you’re not offended. 😉

Yes I would like to read it again! Do you want me to red text again? 😀

@emma-flournoy I’ve read a book on him, but maybe the author was biased. I have not researched him on the internet or anything like that. But the book I read made him similar to Davy portrayed by Fess.

@emma-flournoy I’m glad you’re going to be on here more often.
Hey, I’m editing the GC at the moment and some of your comments are so funny. I love the ones about Jenz. 🙂
Plus, you’ve made me do some serious thinking on certain plot points.-
Thanks, Tessa. 🙂
Oh good, I’m glad they’re funny and helpful. I like that combination. 😀
And I loved writing the ones about Jenz. 😛 -
I was surprised to read at the end that Lucas was your favourite character.

WHAT!!! I LOVE THE STORY OF THE REAL DAVY CROCKETT!!!!
Yes, I have seen the Fess Parker version. I have also seen Davy Crockett and the River Pirates. Have you? I love Georgie. He is so funny.
I definitely can’t picture John Wayne being better that Fess as Davy, so it doesn’t surprise me that it wasn’t that great.
I have seen Fess in Old Yeller…[Read more] -

@emma-flournoy Have you seen “The Quiet Man”? Another John Wayne movie, but this time it’s Irish. 🙂
Yeah, a crack-shot probably works. 🙂 -

@emma-flournoy Wow! Ask me an easier question won’t you???!!! Um…I have seen a few John Wayne movies and this is the best. John Elder (John Wayne) is a, um how do you describe someone who is the best shot in the west? Anyway, his mother dies and he comes home for the funeral, but there have been many changes since he left and his three brothers…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy well yeah, but Kili as a character could have been better done even without the Tauriel fiasco. :/

@daeus Never heard of the hudsucker proxy. I’ll check it out.
@timothy-young I like How to Train Your Dragon 2 but I prefer the original. Better story. Sequel is a bit predictable in my opinion. But both are amazing.
