Okay, so this is a story I wrote some time ago, and it is just a little bit different. I promise, it does have a happy ending, this is not another mailbox. Critiques, advice, suggestions, all are welcome. I suppose I should tag some people, so let me see…@kate-flournoy @kina-lamb @Emma-flournoy @dragon-snapper @graciegirl @Overcomer @ethryndal @i…[Read more]

@Kina-Lamb @Emma-Flournoy I was just about to say, “Oh yes, the Hidden Hand is a really good book!” And then realized I’ve never read it. XD Psychological misfire.
And here’s a Studio C for your pig latin troubles, because I can’t resist. 🙂 Pig Latin

@emma-flournoy Yee-ap! But I’m not constantly thinking about it/stressing over it/being super excited now that they’re submitted, so I think I can relax for the time being 😉

Hey guys,
I’ve been working on this short story I wrote a while back, and I thought it might be a good idea before I get started on the next draft to ask for your opinions and see if any of you have ideas for improving it. (I’d really appreciate them!) 🙂
I wrote draft 1 1/2 recently and looking over it afterward, it occurred to me that it’s…[Read more]

So, excitement!
I just submitted my story to the Home Life contest and am currently waiting for a reply from the Bunyan contest people due to *ahem* technical difficulties (i.e. I put my email address in wrong D: )
So as soon as that can be fixed, the second story will entered as well 🙂
Thanks for everyone’s tips and support! Thanks you, Daeus…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy I forgot to tell you what “The Hidden Hand” is about! It’s really about a lot of things – a couple of stories intertwined together. It’s called “The Hidden Hand” because you can see God’s hand of protection and guidance, working everything out together for good to those that love Him in the story, and giving justice to the wicked…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy The Hidden Hand is a Lamplighter book… their best, I think. There’s 50-60 some chapters, and I absolutely have to quote Jane Austen when she says, “if a book is well written, I find it too short.” That is so relevant for the Hidden Hand!
I haven’t read Les Mis, but I know the story, because my brothers and parents have told me…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Favorite book…that’s hard. I adore the entirety of Tolkein’s work, and C. S. Lewis is amazing as well. Honestly, To Kill A Mockingbird is probably the most amazing piece of literature I’ve ever read, although Wolf Wilder is also an incredibly poetic piece.
I live about an hour north of Dallas, just north of Denton. I’m out in the…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy @adry_grace Am I the know-it-all now? I honestly don’t know, but I do know that you can get on the waiting list, and usually a couple of families can’t make it because of illness/traveling issues, so you’d most likely be able to go. You’d have to be all packed and ready and waiting for the phone call, though!

@emma-flournoy @adry_grace I just remembered, you might also be able to find some information on this website as we get closer to September. This is the website of one of the families that runs the camp. Sometimes they have an “event” page, and there’s some information on there. http://www.bontragerfamilysingers.com

@emma-flournoy I’ve never heard of such a thing, but it’s not totally undoable for a Nebraskan like myself. Where could I learn details, so I can convince my lovely mother that it’s something we simply must go to?
