@emma-flournoy Ah! All my friends say Les Mis is too long! I’m glad I found someone who likes it! I’m only halfway through the book, but I really like it so far!

@emma-flournoy *thinking I’d already replied to this* Yeah, I’d seen a little bit of the mini-series and liked the look of it.
You know what really got me in Perelandra? When he started calling Weston the Un-man. *shudders*

Mornin Gents and Gentesses,
I wrote a short story recently that I’d like to find some beta readers for.
It’s a slice of life story as well as inspiration fiction in the broad sense of the term and kiiindaa romance, depending on how you look at it.
Its length is 8,900 words.
Let me know if you are interested. 🙂

@Emma-Flournoy Actually… no, no it’s not. More like fairytale. She’s a stepsister. (Whether it gave that impression or not… I kinda forgot about creating a proper atmosphere.)
Come to think of it, she’s only that evil 60% of the time. I suppose the collage caught her at a bad moment.

Guys! Look, I made a thing. This is not my protagonist, but she’s another (very cool) personage that I’m having fun with. (*cough cough* Can you say antagonist?)
@Emma-Flournoy This is the one who’s character page you were snooping on. 😉

@emma-flournoy @ethryndal Yes–when I was younger and before I started writing, my friends always told me that I had to be the badguy. And why?
Because I was so good at it.
*headdesk*
*confetti*
I can’t decide.
And who in KeePer is Denholm?
Wait. *glances around*
Is it from Kate’s book? -

You know, I think what the two of you miss about Luke’s character is he’s…what, eighteen in the movie? Nineteen? Speaking as an eighteen year old myself, I think I would react similarly, if I was dropped into Luke’s situation.
Ugh, why can’t you guys dislike a more useless character? Lando Calrissian? Grand Moff Tarkin? Every single one of…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy @That_writer_girl_99 Oh yeah, and I felt really awkward because sometimes I *cough* forget that not everyone shares my opinion, and had just said something really scathing about Luke…
*whinily* But I was going to go into Tosche station to pick up some new POWER converters!!!
*cough*

Haha @emma-flournoy now that you mention it, I think I do remember us talking about that. I was appalled to think someone could dislike Luke. To be honest, I still think it’s strange…

@Emma-Flournoy Why doesn’t this surprise me… XD
Well, be happy, because every good character I ever write is probably going to suffer mass amounts of torture. After all, there IS a reason writers are likened to villains… -

it will attract everyone like lead marbles to the middle of a concave floor.
@Emma-Flournoy And this right here is a prime example of why you need to write your own book. Did you just come up with that off the top of your head, or what? Girl, do you know how difficult good similes are to come up with (for me, at least)? Sheesh.

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Character/Fiction inspired Typography/Art in the forum Art 7 years, 7 months ago
@Emma-Flournoy a gathering of marbles might actually be convenient since everyone says I seem to have lost mine…

@Emily @Shannon and the list groweth ever longer… 😀 I’m never gonna be able to keep track of them all. 😛 You guys are gonna hafta help me by remembering your own names, okay?
@Ethryndal you practically do… *coughs**looks at @Emma-Flournoy* *coughs again* Besides. You can’t tell my characters how to live their lives.
