@warrenluther04 Goodness. I don’t think I have one. The characters…well, they’re not the best part of the story, in my opinion. They’re rather flat. But I like the storyline. And the setting.

I would’ve put Hermione in Ravenclaw.

@celticcailin Hi! Thanks for leaping out into the spotlight for us.
So how’d you find Kingdom Pen? If you like reading Christian fantasy, do you write it too?

Josiah DeGraaf replied to the topic I'm concerned my story is a bad allegory in the forum Fantasy 9 years, 2 months ago
@allison-grace Kate and Daeus already said a lot of things I would say, so the one thing I’ll add to this discussion is that, in my opinion, a lot of it depends on how central the allegorical elements of the story are to the story as a whole. If a lot of your story’s theme and message derives from the allegorical elements (placing it in the genre…[Read more]

Apollo! Or Athena. That’s based on my talents/skills. But I’d love to be in Poseidon’s cabin. @warrenluther04

*coughs* Excuse me. @warrenluther04 Welcome! Glad you found our little corner of the internet.
Ah! I’m a Slytherin, but there’s a little Ravenclaw in there too.
You like comics!? That’s awesome. Who’s your favorite superhero? You can pick one from both Marvel and DC, if you can’t pick just one.

Daeus replied to the topic Help! Too Many Ideas in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 9 years, 2 months ago
@joy Well, let’s disregard thematic depth then because that can be fixed. In that case, Queen of Thorns or Aethra Falls seem like the two best options.

Daeus replied to the topic Help! Too Many Ideas in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 9 years, 2 months ago
@joy I can see why you’re torn. Those all sound like great ideas, only the second one is a little scattered in that I don’t see how it all connects as well as with the others. I probably have a tie between 1 and 3, with four sounding great too.
I’ll just offer a few questions that might help you pick one idea to go forward with.
1. Which idea do…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Henty is the worst, but Arthur Conan Doyle was high in mind too. Though I do like Doyle actually.

@kate-flournoy I’ll just leave this here for you to respond to when you come back on.
Chapter 1 of Prison is completely converted to third person, but still from Kara’s perspective. And I really, really don’t like it. I like being able to see inside Kara’s head, and this new version just seems heavier–harder to show her character.
That being…[Read more]
