well, I can say personally that I get annoyed with books that have a complex plot and also make you figure out what the world is and whats going on. I would really prefer to know more. It could be informative where you just tell the reader, or it could be something like one of the kids asking a question and an adult explaining…

Actually it was “Cassian ran, trying to outrun time itself”.

That still might grate a little bit because of ran/outrun, so I changed it a little bit.

Man… that hit hard. Really hard. I may or may not have almost started crying at the end there. Great job, I noticed you put in more descriptions of the colosseum, and that really helped to imagine the inside of the colosseum. The atmosphere was good as well, and everything was great!!

Hmm, I’m not sure. The way he’s acting, trying only to preserve himself, it doesn’t seem like he will. Or maybe when he’s see Marcus and Flavia die (if they do) then he’ll come to faith. Sigh, it’s another game of will-he-won’t-he XD

Chapter 13 and 14 are really smooth, the scenes were good and atmospheric. The only thing I noticed which isn’t even a big issue is that you used Caesar’s name instead of Nero’s in chapter 13 at some point. It was great though!! Once again, Julius’ inner conflict was portrayed well.
