The hours passed, but there was little dread in them for Joseph. Beric slept most of the time, and when Joseph laid a hand against the boy’s forehead, he found it was still hot with fever. His own eyes burned, and he was sure Stephen was little better.

Yes, it’s supposed to be fictionalized early church. I read Foxes Book of Martyrs, The Martyrs Mirror, and Acts before I wrote these, so I draw a lot out of those. In fact, a lot of the situations are real from real people’s accounts.
Some I wrote, some are old, old hymns from the underground church.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I loved this! It’s super helpful.
Side note: interestingly enough, you said that the second book is your least favorite, while I’ve preferred it so far to the first one. We’ll see how the third and fourth compare.
You know what, Aaron will always be my favorite character, but I’m growing to lik…[Read more]

wow! haven’t heard from you in a little while! I was wondering if you were still reading!
I think I plan to keep it. It honestly is a very special thing and a special part of the story, and I feel like it really shows their faith as whole as embodying some of the key messages of the book. I have actually ended each of the books in this…[Read more]

I read Narnia, but other then that I read mostly fiction set in our world or a fantasy world that was basically earth alternate reality with no weird creatures just a bunch of artistic liberty.
The only other Kate DiCamillo book I know for sure I’ve read is Because of Winn-Dixie.
Oh wait, I read that one. I didn’t like i…[Read more]

That’s me with War Horse. The book was told from the horse’s perspective and was very confusing and somewhat uninteresting because the horse sometimes had horse limitation and sometimes could think like a person. But the movie was amazing because you can see everything the horse is seeing.
I do like some fantasy. But…[Read more]
