Daeus started the topic Landing Page Critique? in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 6 months ago
Hi friends,
You may or may not know that show don’t tell is one of my favorite writing topics. The practical application of this is that I’m currently putting together an in-depth course to help people master the subject. Part 1 of this course is just about finished and ready for me to launch!
In preparation, I was wondering if you could take a…[Read more]

@that_writer_girl_99 I knew that, it was just that everybody else had the same tag as their username. Oops.
@theacornman Missed this question earlier! A few months ago, I would’ve said yes, the How to Train Your Dragon movies. But then… then I got into Marvel. And once again, it’s a series where they’re all just so good I can’t pick…[Read more]

Ethryndal started the topic Can it Possibly have been a Year? in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 6 months ago
My dear KaPeefer friends…
This is it. One year ago today, my shaking fingers typed out a vague and slightly snarky introduction letter. I didn’t say much, but what I did say, I endeavored to make it sound smart. (I failed.) I signed it “Ethryndal”. I didn’t half know who she was, but she sounded nice, and she sounded like me.
My finger hovered…[Read more]

*crawls out of a hidden drain, dripping wet and covered in seaweed* SO… hey. It’s me. I actually don’t have a revolutionary writing concept to share today. Or advice to ask for. I’m starting this topic for a much more mundane reason.
I promised several of you (and I’ve forgotten exactly who *cringes*) to let you know when I had my blog up and…[Read more]

Ben Powell replied to the topic War-Torn City in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 8 years, 6 months ago
So, I have an idea on the less nuclear-natural disaster side of things. What if the whole population has been lied to for years about the war. The government has trained everyone to believe that it was a war between their country and an evil outside country, but it was actually a revolt where some man or group started an uprising,…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper Perhaps it could partly be due distrust and suspicions of each others motives. Which could lead to in fighting and the formation of smaller factions. And then from those smaller factions even smaller groups of people break away because os their distrust. Due to all the inner conflict people could begin to leave the city. Possibly…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper Perhaps whatever resources that made the city livable were destroyed/used up. Water, valuable ores underground, oil, or something.

Daeus replied to the topic War-Torn City in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 8 years, 6 months ago
@dragon-snapper A plague makes sense to me.
Monsters or demons take over the city.
The water gets poisoned.
An unexplained phenomenon creeps out the city so bad they all leave. I.e. 1% of the population mysteriously disappears every Saturday at exactly 12:43 A.M.

PrincessFoo replied to the topic War-Torn City in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 8 years, 6 months ago
@dragon-snapper A plague maybe? Or, (because your profile picture reminds me of star-trek) chemical or nuclear residue? Or even just rumors of nuclear residue. Or maybe the city was built over some natural gas chamber that opened and drove people away. Or maybe during the war, an army came and killed everyone who hadn’t left yet, and then no one…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic PRAYER REQUESTS #2 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 6 months ago
Hey guys! I’ve got a prayer request.
I just lost a necklace somewhere on the ranch where I now live. It’s a special necklace since it was my grandma’s, then my mom’s, and then when I got baptized my mom gave it to me. It’s made of real gold and diamonds too, so it’s not exactly very replaceable. Can you all pray that I find it?

@dragon-snapper How about Chocolate of the Hot variety, instead of coffee?
You know you’re a writer when you invent a new book idea from looking at one little marked out event on your library’s calendar. (You see the secret group marks out the event, but they still meet at that time. cool, huh?)

*giant tackle hug* YOU’RE BAAAACK!!! What’s new? Did you move into your RV? *sends army of smiley faces* 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
*waves excitedly* Hi! We moved into the RV maybe… two weeks ago? Something like that. Besides that, nothing new has really happened. Just lots and lots and LOTS of school work.
Same here with school work. 🙂 How are you liking the RV?
It’s okay, I guess. Just really small. The walls are really thin so pretty much every sound can be heard throughout the RV, which is kind of annoying, especially when I’m trying to focus on school or writing. I also have to share a room with my two sisters, so I don’t get very much time to read at night because they want to turn off the light. But…[Read more]
Thank you! *hugs you in return* Thanks for not tackle hugging me *glances at @daughteroftheking* 😉
*whistles innocently* 😀 You must be very patient, sharing a room. I like your profile pic!
Yeah, my little siblings can be pretty annoying sometimes 😉
Thank you! I do too 🙂 I wasn’t able to fit all of Smaug unfortunately, but at least I got most of him.
Welcome back @epic-addie2 ! Life does get busy when you move. *nods* though for me it’s unpacking.
@catwing I didn’t have much to unpack, so that wasn’t much of a problem. 😉
