Hellooo! I’m writing in the middle of the day again, instead of in the middle of the night!
Anyone around?

@dekreel Okay! I asked my brother this morning what he thought of Chain of Command, and he said
“There…are…FOUR…LIGHTS!!!!!!”
😀 😀 😀 He actually said that, and then told me to write it exactly like that when I replied to you.
When I asked him what he actually thought of it he said that he likes it and it’s considered one of the really…[Read more]

@dekreel Okayyy, but it’s really late here, so I might wait for that discussion until morning. 😀
It was originally intended to be set in the 60s, but I think I’m moving it back to the 50s. Do you ever write historical fiction?

@dekreel @ariella-newheart *realizes I missed a WHOLE DISCUSSION of Star Trek* *cries*
Anyway, to clear things up, you’re both right. 😀 Captain Jean-Luc Picard was written to be French, but the guy who plays him is Patrick Stewart, a British actor. So, he usually speaks with a British accent, though he speaks a few sentences of French several…[Read more]

@dekreel The plot is in place? That’s always a good thing! 😀
I’m trying to work on writing my his-fic short story and not get distracted. 🙂
I’m also staying up purposefully, not distractedly, waiting for my brother to come home from the airport. (Remember I told you I couldn’t ask him about the Star Trek episode because he was out of s…[Read more]

@kaya-young Sorry I didn’t get back when I planned. I got tied up. But I hope you’ll be a frequenter of this topic from now on!
That does sound interesting. One of the things I like best about sci-fi is when it’s well thought out and researched. In one of the Tom Swift Jr. books Tom makes a zero gravity machine by making a huge box with di…[Read more]

Wow, @dekreel . I can really relate to this. You know, KP is such an amazing place, full of encouraging people. But it can also be used against us when we fall into comparison- which I did without even realizing it. I started to think things like “you shouldn’t even be on this website, you’re not a real writer like they are” and “why do you even…[Read more]

@kaya-young That’s exactly how it works. 😀 I wasn’t here when you posted, and I’m sure you left long ago, but I’m here now.
You can either just announce that you’re writing and hope someone is around to see it and join you, or you can get to know who is around at what time, or check the list of who is active on the forum and tag people to ask…[Read more]

@dekreel I wasn’t going to set a time, unless everyone wanted to. We’d just post whenever we’d read the chapter, I guess.

@dekreel @jenwriter17 @notawriter @daeus Ok, so here goes… I honestly am not sure what exactly is wrong with my dialogue, it just seems off. Without further hesitation, I present to you some of my conversations:
“You did a really good job with your prayer! Who wrote it again? Daisy paused, her hand hovering over a box of tea boasting a choc…[Read more]

The Vulcan hand thing? Yes, I can! Heheheh…. My dad and I even invented a handshake with it. My family is very weird….

@dekreel I’ll admit it’s not as frequented as the Writers’ Corner, but I think I’ve chatted with some others reading at the same time in the past.

@dekreel I have watched a few episodes from TOS, yes. 😛 I like Spock, too! I can never manage to do his eyebrow thing, though. I’ve always wanted to. Whenever I write my characters raising their eyebrows (or an eyebrow) I always think of Spock. xD
