The last scene I completed I wrote last night while I was watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. the movie just gave me a burst of inspiration and I wrote a whole scene of a new novel in about 30 minutes.
It was a prologue and it involved the main character finding an evil something in the forest and it introduces all t…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Yep! The next story is going to be kind of a prequel to this one, but it happens in a small seaside town in a summer where a strange cafe appears, along with some extremely strange people. Totally relaxing. Totally not going to have mysterious disappearances 🙂

Of course! I know all about Kindle Direct Publishing, I just can be very thick and didn’t realise that’s what KDP stood for 😛
I know, the quotes are really bugging me too.
Haha, no worries! I like talking about my books. My main characters are called Mere and Roe and they are based on Jeanne Baret and William…[Read more]

@gracie-j It’s been literal years since I last wrote poetry. I like this a lot! Though might I add a few suggestions?
-Line 4 could use another syllable
– “Slowly lifted up her head” I feel like you could add a ‘she’ before this
And other than that, nothing much. Good job!

@gracie-j Ahaha good for you! I’m hoping this bout of unmotivation will pass soon; I remember two years ago when I finished NaNo I didn’t write anything for four months straight because I was exhausted. But hopefully this will be short.

@kathleenramm The last scene I finished? Or the last scene I worked on?
Well, they both were pretty similar, so…
Last I wrote was about fifteen minutes ago, but I’ll go with the one before that. Mainly a couple of characters are trying to go around the area putting up seals so that they can trap the villain…mainly just traveling around and…[Read more]

@jbb I suppose I am knowledgeable about Asian culture, specifically Chinese culture. If you need help on names or something do tag me, because one thing that annoys me extremely is when I read a book and the names are unreadable.
I guess you could also tag me for music and math. Don’t ask me about too advanced math, though.
Oh, and I also have a…[Read more]

For the KP newsletter September story prompt I wrote a poem, but didn’t end up sending it in, since I didn’t have time to perfect it. It still isn’t perfect, but since there’s no deadline anymore I don’t know if I’ll ever change anything. 😉
Anyway, I thought you might enjoy seeing it since you’ve liked my poems in the past. 😉 A…[Read more]

I’m loving all this publishing chatter. Can I ask what KDP is? I’ve been tossing up whether to pursue the self-publishing or trad publishing route and I really haven’t decided yet, so I’m keen to hear about more options.
Also, I would say, I (and a bunch of other trad published authors) wouldn’t recommend going with a…[Read more]

@lewilliams I love your blurb, especially the structure of it. Very nice. I also feel sorry for all of them, especially Arvi, poor boy!
And oh my goodness, A Beginner’s Guide to Villainy sounds exactly like my cup of tea. Also 100% realistic. I know a lot of tertiary students who would become villains just to get their scores up a little. And b…[Read more]

Thanks! Tell Me No Lies sounds very interesting! 😀 I love murder mysteries and I’ve always wanted to try my hand at one, but I don’t think I have a good enough understanding yet. 🙁 I think the genre is one of if not the hardest to write.
Haha I’m only writing the kind of stories I wish someone else has already writt…[Read more]

@r-m-archer I’ve read about your Calligraphy Guild novel on your website, it honestly looks so awesome and I’m intrigued by the whole “magic ink rewriting the past” concept. I hope it goes well! And I’m sure there’s heaps you can do to revitalise your old novel, best of…[Read more]

I like mysteries, but I get tired of them if they’re too often murders. I can watch or read a few murder mysteries, but I’d prefer robberies and kidnappings or other crimes in between to make it less gruesome.
I like puppies, but dogs aren’t my favorite. 😉 They can be really sweet, I’m just not crazy about the way they slobber a…[Read more]
