@nova21 Maybe…not only what she does in the Vision World affects what happens in the real world, but eventually what she does in the real world affects what she does in the Vision World.

@nova21 First, OH MY GOODNESS your story sounds so interesting! Definitely something I would read! 😀
I really like @gracie-j‘s suggestions… Maybe the dream cut off at an important part and she misses some key information; then in her reality where the vision is repeating itself she won’t have this bit of information the vision cut off. There…[Read more]

Lin replied to the topic What's your process of creating a main character for your story? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years ago
@kathleenramm Character development is actually not my strong suit. I rarely go around planning what my characters are gonna look like before I start writing. Usually my mind goes, “I want a story about this.” And then I already have some vague ideas of what the main character is like (e.g. one personality trait, one physical appearance trait, but…[Read more]

Currently reading 50 pgs a day of The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. I haven’t been this emotionally invested in a book like this since East of Eden. Ivan is my favorite character so far. Can’t wait to finish it.

@kathleenramm I always hate reading old writing and feeling like I haven’t improved *cries*
To readjust my focus I usually pray but then I also like to remind myself of things like “it’s okay to not be perfect” and things like that XD

@kathleenramm Ah, I do ballet, play piano, make music sheets, make electronic music, draw… And I want to learn other instruments and languages, as well as a lot of other things. Too bad I have no time XD

@gracie-j ;-; Thanks for bring this up, Grace. This is why I always, ALWAYS, copy the whole text before starting a new forum topic, just in case this happens.

Jenna Terese replied to the topic How do you develop your story ideas? in the forum General Writing Discussions 5 years, 1 month ago
I always do a lot of brainstorming with a new idea (a.k.a. brain dumping into a journal). I basically just kinda write down whatever little ideas come to mind for the book idea, and when I feel like I have a good amount, I might try to arrange the ideas into plot points. At the same time I work on the characters too, figuring out…[Read more]

@joy-caroline Lemme run through a slightly embarrassing way of how I developed Under That Dusky Sky so far…
1. Cue me watching Monsters Inc. Seeing Randall, I think, “Well. I could do with some sort of character who can turn invisible who is super annoying and also a snitch.
2. Riding in a car a few weeks later, I’m thinking back to this one…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic If you got to be a screen writer for a movie, what type of movie would it be? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 1 month ago
@gracie-j Yep! I would love to write a script for my novel. I should probably finish it first though XD I’ve spent literally hours imagining it as a movie XD Yes, I saw it a couple months ago! I watched it with my family and we didn’t realize it was a Christian movie when we started it XD I was nervous it would be preachy like most Christian m…[Read more]

@kathleenramm Ooh, this is a good question! I’ve tried writing scripts before but they kind of flopped. I still wanna finish one at some point though XD
I think it’d be suuuuper fun to write a screenplay for historical fiction or fantasy (an epic script like LOTR? yes please). And like @gracie-j said, PIRATES. It would be SO MUCH FUN to write a…[Read more]

EpicAddie2 replied to the topic What do you do when you feel discouraged and feel like giving up? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 1 month ago
@kathleenramm When I start feeling discouraged I’ll usually spend some time praying about it and take a short break from writing. I think for me when I’m feeling discouraged it’s usually because I’m comparing myself to other writers or I feel like I’m not working hard enough on my WIP. Usually it’s simply a matter of readjusting my focus.

@kathleenramm I guess usually I just tell myself I’m too tired, and I go on and work on one of my other hobbies for a few months. Or I switch it up. Variety helps a lot.

Wow, this is from a little while ago. 😛 Thanks! I’m glad you like it.
I agree, Kipling’s poems are very good. Now I should go back and read some, since I haven’t read any of his works in a while. 😉 My favorite poet of the droll variety is probably A.A. Milne, though. What do you think of his stuff?
Thank you! …[Read more]
