The theme I’m generally getting here is that we need to treat our reader’s with a servant’s heart. I went ahead and wrote on a piece of paper: “I exist to be a servant to my readers as Christ served the apostles,” then hung it up on my wall. Hopefully I’ll actually follow that principle. 😉
One thing I thought of that I…[Read more]

Great ideas, @kate-flournoy. Physical mail would be awesome to get as a reader. The only problem is getting addresses and non-continental shipping.
Alright, @aratrea! This is an official petition that I be allowed to interview Nadine a second time.

@catwing Book signings add value.
I actually just watched the Skit Guys for the first time. I think the one I watched was called “mommy goggles”.

Then too, your blog posts should be above and beyond what people expect.

@catwing That’s true. A blog can give people extra value.

@catwing Well, I think what you have inside of the book is certainly part of it. If you write a book that blows people away, then you’ve gone above and beyond what they expected. I’m more interested in things besides your story though. No book can blow every reader away. We need other lines of defense.

So folks, let’s see how inventive you are.
I was just at a conference and, in one of the talks, a guy said that whatever you do, you should practice the principle of going the extra mile.
I immediately thought of writing. Immediately after that, I was stumped. How does one go the extra mile in writing?
What people expect is a good story, a…[Read more]

@winter-rose There are 31 chapters.
@graciegirl It’s been fun. 😛 Thankfully my brother’s an ISTP, so that’s helped. My mom’s an ENFP too. -

@majerot Welcome to the bestistest place on the internet!
It’s not often we get full out poets on here. How many poems have you written? Do you have a favorite poetic format?

Hi guys,
I made another one. Btw, I don’t plan to keep posting these here, so if you want more of them, subscribe directly to the channel.
I’ll tag a few people I don’t think have seen these.

@emily By all means. I want to hear your thoughts whether I tag you or not. We just have a tagging limit of 10 and I’m not on here enough to know everyone’s names… 😉
@jane-maree Yes, the to will work, if I have the ‘of nights’ instead of just ‘night’.
So… bringing hope to the blackest of nights
Or
Penning hope in the blackest of…[Read more]

@daughteroftheking Same here. My first thought was ‘darkest’ but then I switched to ‘blackest’ because I thought it sounded better.
@catwing Breathing hope into the blackest of nights. I like that.
@jess Hmmm… I like breathing. Penning could maybe work too. Penning hope in the blackest of nights. Eh… not sure. Thoughts?
The main thing is…[Read more]

So, I’ve been working on a tagline for my site, Writing in the Light. Well, it’s a tagline for me, really. Something I can put everywhere – on my blog, on my social media. Basically, something that sums up me and my writing very well. I came up with a line earlier that I really like:
Breathing hope into the blackest night.
It sums up what I…[Read more]

@catwing You made it!!!! And I’m two days late to the party. Like normal. XD Still, it’s great to see you. I’ve always loved cats with wings. Anything with wings, really, except for some bugs. But cats, horses, dragons, wolves… I enslave *coughs* I mean, care for them all.

Daeus replied to the topic Should I be publishing my new work to my blog? in the forum Publishing & Platform 7 years, 3 months ago
@josiahdeboer I think you should just leave them there. If people don’t mind previously published stories, then it should be fine if it’s still up on your site. Plus, it’s nice to have some stories for your followers to read.
