@daeus, I currently have the Silmarillion out from my library at the moment, I’m planning to read it soon.
@that_writer_girl_99 No worries, not every is into classics! I have read The Chronicles of Narnia and they are some of my favourite books!
@aratrea, thanks!
@Christi-eaton, my mum actually suggested I listen to Les Mis today, so I might get…[Read more] -

My first title was #1, but then I tried saying it and it didn’t roll of the tongue.

I have another book series that I’m going to write in the future, but I am having difficulties with the title. Pick the one you like:
1. The Heathen’s Sword
2. The Heathen Sword (without ‘s)
3. The…[Read more] -

@Daeus Meh. Though with that ton of downloads at least you know people are interested. Slightly at least. *snort* Good luck with thy promotion.

@Daeus Have any idea how many copies you’ve sold?

Emma Flournoy replied to the topic A New Synopsis For Edwin Brook in the forum Publishing & Platform 8 years, 8 months ago
@Daeus Mostly what they said. Including the part about the emotional hook.
Also, about ‘written in a classical style’—not saying you should not say it’s classical style, but just the way it’s worded, that particular way, sounds too stiff or something. Too…normal, or something similar which I can’t think of the word for. 😛 Maybe it should be…[Read more] -

A story of action, adventure, and justice, written in a classical style.
@Daeus @His-Instrument me no likey. There’s no emotional hook.

@daeus That sounds good. The only thing I would ask myself is, will “written in a classical style” possibly be a deterrent to anyone? If so, maybe you want to temper that statement with something about how it pertains to modern life somehow. Know what I’m saying? But if you’re not really targeting the whatever-percent if the population who is…[Read more]

@daeus I agree with Kate. I really prefer the first synopsis. If you do go with the second one, though, make sure you change “His enemy has powerful” to “His enemy is powerful.” 🙂
I would recommend changing “Matthew is sworn to avenge…” to “Matthew has sworn to avenge…” I know that “is sworn” is a thing. That is, I know “sworn” can be used as…[Read more] -

@Daeus I actually really, really, really prefer the first synopsis… *rueful smile*
When you say ‘make it clearer who it’s for’ are you talking about the target audience? If that’s the case, a more explicit (but still subtle) ‘mission statement’ might be all that’s required. Not knowing precisely what the underlying issue is, I would say is it…[Read more] -

@emma-flournoy Hi and thank you! I actually have a lot of favorite movies. All the Pirates of the Caribbean and Mission: Impossible, God’s Not Dead 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy, to name a few.
@kate-flournoy Thank you. Yeah, I don’t know if I’m an introverted extrovert, or an introvert with extroverted tendencies. Cool! What kind of poetr…[Read more]

Hi guys,
So, my dad has to take this licensing test thing for his work, and the exam is Saturday. He really needs the license for his work, and I’m nervous for him.
Please pray that he studies productively so he can pass the exam.
Thanks!

Yes, surgery. *shudder* Neither of the chiropractors we know would every recommend surgery unless is last the last choice, but they also wouldn’t have me get x-rays, so I’d prob. have to go to and orthopedic doc. But yeah I know what you mean ice, and oils aren’t cure all’s. I think my fall caused posture issues 🙁 ,and possibly a weak…[Read more] -

Um. Here’s the thing. I’m not really into reading classic books–in fact I’m pretty picky about the books I read. I get bored easily, and sitting down to read for long periods of time makes me antsy.
That being said. You’ve probably already read this series, but if you haven’t, the Chronicles of Narnia deserves a look. And I mean the whole…[Read more]
