@Rachelle I love them! Especially the one with the wings, though I realize that was posted a while ago. 😛

@Daeus @That_Writer_Girl_99 yeah, the only reason I didn’t say Count of Monte Cristo is because I knew Daeus would. XD

@That_Writer_Girl_99 aha, that dear old ugly monster of perfectionism. I’m still struggling with that too, but I am learning that it’s okay to fail. It’s when I let that failure keep me down and cloud my heart towards God that things become a problem.

@That_Writer_Girl_99 cheer up. Nothing is ever pointless. Our mistakes teach us by elimination. 😉 You know what doesn’t work now; that’s one more step towards what does.

@That_Writer_Girl_99 ah— the joys of introversion. 😛 I know what that’s like. Most of the time I prefer being by myself or with my family. Hanging out with friends (unless they’re kindred spirits) can be mentally exhausting.

@That_Writer_Girl_99 um, great I think! ;P I’m wading through the latter end of the climax in my WIP, and though there’s a lot of work still to be done I’m very happy with what I’ve accomplished, which is a lot coming from a perfectionist like me. 😉
And life is… life. Very rarely will you catch me having a bad time of it… probably because…[Read more] -

@That_Writer_Girl_99 well, themes can certainly shift. It’s happened to me before. 😛 If you keep having that feeling, don’t be afraid to play around with it and figure out what’s off and whether you can fix it or just want to go with something else.
That’s great!
And no, it’s not. I’m sure this series is going to be awesome too, but what I…[Read more]

@That_Writer_Girl_99 nope, looks great! I love the different facets of Matthias’ personality. 😀
As for Blake… I really think you want him inside the prison. That brings the battle directly to Kara where she is right now and sets the whole place in an uproar as conflicting beliefs and agendas collide all over about what to do with him. This…[Read more]

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Ben-Hur: Book, Charlton Heston, or Morgan Freeman? in the forum General Writing Discussions 7 years, 6 months ago
@His-Instrument the book. Definitely the book. I didn’t care for the Charlton Heston movie (possibly just because I really don’t like Charlton Heston) and I haven’t seen the newer one, but my parents saw it and said it was nothing special.
I love the book though. It’s definitely worth reading, even reading again, which is high praise for a book…[Read more] -

@That_Writer_Girl_99 yeah, I like the movies, but they have absolutely nothing on the books. I’d really recommend you read them. I won’t say they’re perfect but since I’m a writer I don’t think I’ll ever find a perfect book and those come pretty close.

@His-Instrument well @Ethryndal and I discovered recently that I’m Luthien Tinuviel and I have dark hair but I’m not from Rivendell. 😀 The Girdle of Mellian, I think… 😉

@That_Writer_Girl_99 that is a GREAT midpoint. So right now what you’re looking for seems to be a first plot point— where Kara commits to action. What about Blake? Was he taken in the fight with the Catastrophes? Or did he use it as a distraction to infiltrate the prison and get caught or something? If that’s the case Matthias could have gotten…[Read more]
