@That_Writer_Girl_99 (I dunno if anyone else has already said this, but I’ll toss my thoughts in anyways xP) All your ideas are pretty good, but also – write about yourself. Tell your blog readers about your life, what’s happening for you. They want to know. Picture your readers as your best friends, because that’s what you want them to become.…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper I just remembered something to add to that list of things about Daeus. I don’t know if anyone on here knows this or not, but he was born in Japan – he doesn’t speak Japanese so don’t ask him to. 😀

@Rjk YES I LOVE TO MASH GENRES. XD (also I’m Australian, hence I sometimes take a while to reply to things because timezones. >.<) Mashing genres is soooo much fun.

@RJK Welcome!!! Because this is what I do when I introduce myself on here…
I’m Daeus’s (little) sister.
I like to write, obviously.
I like ice cream and raspberries too. (Daeus can’t be the only one.) Oh, and blueberries.
I like to memorize scripture (see the Scripture Memorization thread if you can find it.)What are your favorite books?…[Read more]

@emily-d I reckon a lot of people use internet slang in everyday speech. “Lol, that’s totes funny. OMG, I can’t even.” XD I hardly use it even when messaging. But when its said out loud, it sounds really lame.

@DelightinLife I’m not going to look through allll those posts, so hopefully I’m not repeating anything you’ve already been told. XP
Usually when I have a protagonist with no plot, I a) let it stew for a bit if I have time or b) (if I want to do the story now) I take a look at the character and analyze what sort of conflict he’d need to make…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper I think my Mum said that Christians especially use the term “unpack.” We’re also homeschooled, and a lot of the resources we used were American, because that’s all there was, so she’d seen it around a lot.

@aratrea my annual town book fair is on over the next few days, and -after doing Theme Mastery and hearing your thoughts on some of the classics- I thought I might give some a read/study/analyze myself. Today I got The Count of Monte Cristo, Crime and Punishment and one or two others, but I was wondering if you had any specific ones (other than on…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper I don’t know if this would be considered slang, but Americans say “unpack” a lot in the context of teaching. Like, “We’ll unpack this as we go.” It is really annoying 😛

Ah! Where to begin? If you can find the Divine Comedy by Dante Alghieri (it’s normally split into its separate books: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso), get it. As an allegorical poetic epic, it’s not necessarily the most relevant to novels, but it’s my favorite work of literature ever and has some masterful themes in it.
After that,…[Read more]
Ooh yep yep. I’ll write all those down on my list and see if I can hunt any of them up!
