@kate-flournoy Hey Kate, I’m gonna need your help editing a special project. Is there a specific day that you’d be available to sit on a google doc and chat about edits for a bit?

@SeekJustice Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Little Dorrit, and Nicholas Nickleby (though that one is creepy on the villain side even for Dickens). Also Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, which though not technically a classic, should be one. 😛

@seekjustice My four favorite classic works are Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables, Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, Dicken’s Great Expectations, and Jane Austen’s Emma.

Um. Here’s the thing. I’m not really into reading classic books–in fact I’m pretty picky about the books I read. I get bored easily, and sitting down to read for long periods of time makes me antsy.
That being said. You’ve probably already read this series, but if you haven’t, the Chronicles of Narnia deserves a look. And I mean the whole…[Read more]

@CK4always my favorite color is any shade of red. 😉 Particularly scarlet, though crimson is close second.

@CK4always Welcome to the Kingdom!! I’m a leetle bit late but better late than never, right? 😛
Seriously though, welcome. 🙂 Hope to see you around! -

@Emily Yay! Once you have that outline done, things get a good bit easier. (Or so I’ve heard. I haven’t finished the one for my WIP yet so I’m not speaking from experience. 😛 )
Hmmm, tough decision. I think it really depends on what your theme is for the story. Which ending serves to drive your message home the best?
But strictly from a…[Read more]

Gracie replied to the topic A question for anyone about elves in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 10 months ago
Yeah, I always picture Tolkien elves whenever anyone mentions elves. Tall, pointy ears. But I do agree with Kate that their appearance should probably reflect their culture a bit. For instance, I don’t think a mischievous, lazy-summer-days kinda culture fits well with Tolkien’s “version” which is more along the line of regal, wise, and aloof yet…[Read more]

@Allison-Grace depends. What’s the tone of their culture? Small and delicate? Merry? Grave? Both? Wise, or simple? Shrewd, or peaceful? Really you could make anything work, but that’s one thing to consider. 😉

@hope I just read chapter 19 of Fidelyon.
I sort of saw the plot twist coming BUT I’M STILL SCREAMING (internally. maybe. xP).-
@jane-maree *smiles sweetly* Yep, that one had quite a bit of foreshadowing. *rubs hands* It was still quite fun to write.

*grins and waits for you to get a few chapters further*

@hope MORE PLOT TWISTS. *continued screaming*

@that_writer_girl_99 well I’m quite flattered. 😉 I actually can’t say at all for certain. It’s summer, which means vegetable season, which means canning, which means upset schedules, which means spur of the moment decisions… yeah. You get it. 😛 But I’m fairly certain Saturday night should be good. Sound good to you?
Yeah. And if you can do it sooner, let me know.
Will do. 🙂
@that_writer_girl_99 welp… *purses lips* There goes that. I was just informed that special secret birthday plans for my little brother are scheduled for Saturday evening.
If you’re on right now I can go with you until eight, but otherwise the next slot is probably gonna be Monday sometime.
