@ariel-ashira, I’m so sorry I didn’t see this till just now!! I’ve been pretty low on time this year, so haven’t been on KP in ages.
Thanks so much for drawing her! She looks great. 🙂

@dekreel. Thank you so much for sharing! I will absolutely be praying for you… 🙂
I’m two weeks away from finishing my last year of high school ever!!! *gleeful rubbing of hands* (If that confuses you, it just proves that you’re an American… In Australia, we finish a school year at the end of the year… How does that not make sense??? :D)
Anyways.
I’m struggling in a similar way to Dekreel. I’m doing okay with the normal life things (although the state of my bedroom may disagree with me…) but I’m really struggling to find motivation to push through these last couple of weeks of school work. Please pray I’ll find my strength in the Lord, and the motivation in a desire to please Him.

What @seekjustice said is really true, guys. Australia (particularly the state of New South Wales) is really struggling. If you want to read more about it, follow this link.

Also, @seekjustice, I thought you might be interested in this Christian mission’s response to the drought.

And lastly…Congrats, girl!!! Way to go for winning over all those others!! *throws glitter all over you*

Absolutely praying for your friend, @alia, and for you too, as you try to counsel her with wisdom. I’ll be praying for both of you.

@alia, oh poor dear!
You are going through so many trials right now. Don’t ever forget how much Jesus loves you!
I’m so glad your friend was a child of God. Praying for you and her family.

So apparently my post was too long, because I couldn’t post it all together! Here’s the second half. 😉
I hope that’s helpful. Something else that I wanted to add, and this may or may not be relevant to you, is about romantic relationships.
If someone (I’m speaking specifically of guys, but to be honest any friend you have will probably be the same) loves you for who you are as a child of God, they’ll think you’re beautiful.
If someone thinks you’re attractive or pretty (now I’m talking about guys) before they know you well, and seek out a relationship because of that, they’re probably not worth it. I’m not saying that physical beauty isn’t something that can/should be recognized necessarily, but this is the big problem with the world now, is that people see someone handsome or beautiful and they get a ‘crush’, which is essentially committing adultery (lusting after someone in their heart), before they know and love them for who they are inside.
I also just wanted to acknowledge the fact that I know everyone saying, ‘It’s who you are as a Christian and loving the way God made you that counts’, is true, but also easier said than done. Hang in there girl!! 😉
I’m sorry that was a bit of a ramble, but I just wanted to let you know that I really care. 🙂

Hello dears,
I’m sorry I haven’t been here for a while, but I’ve gotten all your requests and comments via email.
@jenwriter17, firstly, I’m sorry to hear that you’re struggling in that way. Secondly, I’m praying for you. My sister, (Heather, for those who are Revivians) had a great response for someone on Revive who was going through this, and I thought I’d share it here.“You know, usually when someone says “I struggle with body image/low self esteem”, everyone will say “No! You’re beautiful!”Â
To be honest, you probably are beautiful, but what if you weren’t? What if you’d had a bad accident and had scars or disfigurement? You can’t always get good grades. What if someday you completely fail. What about when you make a big mistake.The next step is to look at inner beauty. I’m sure you’re quite a nice person. I am too! But if you were to see me in my home getting annoyed, critical or discouraged, you would see the truth. Even worse, if you could see my thoughts and feelings, you’d know that I’m not really that nice. Inside, I’m full of darkness and sin. My mind is not beautiful. Although you’re probably nice, I know that you have sin too.
So how can you feel valuable and confident? None of us have any reason in and of ourselves for confidence. We are not valuable. BUT something else makes us valuable. The God who created the entire world, the solar system, the Milky Way, the universe; the one who molded history, who puts kings in power and brings powers down: He sent His only Son, Jesus, to die, simply so you can be freed from this inner darkness, worship Him, and build a relationship with Him.
We cannot place our value in external beauty, because it is fleeting and shallow. We can’t rely on inner beauty either, because everyone is sinful. But we can be confident because we have the love and care of the God of the universe.”

@dragon-snapper, uuuuuummmmmmmm.
yeah.
I’m not going to be much help with this, cause I do the same thing.
One of the things I’ve found helpful is, like @daeus said, insert hope. Your characters should be driven by their goals.
Unless your MC is like mine, who is just plain hurting and miserable, and kind of takes it out on everyone else. ????? Like, WHY? Why is she doing this to me? I used to think that when writers said “My character isn’t cooperating!” they were making it up, ’cause, come on, it’s a fictional character, you have control. Um…no. They do what they want!!!!
Anyways.
I’ll figure it out eventually. 🙂
