This is an invitation link to a discord group. This group is exclusive to people from KP. Please don’t invite anyone who isn’t in Kp. It will or could be used for chatting (more quickly) about stories in real time, and stuff. I’m not saying get rid of KP, considering this looks like it’s going to do away with the forum…[Read more]

This weekend I saw a girl who I’m certain is a writer, though I never talked to her (I’m trying to get contact information for someone who might know her, so I can ask for her contact information in a slightly less creepy way than otherwise, but that’s another story), and she reminded me how much of my writing life I spent alone.
I started…[Read more]

Please someone, anyone, I implore you on bended knee… draw Josiah the Wiser, sporting his scraggly coarse tarantula beard, with a frog (grinning evilly) on his head. Anyone who can draw, please try… if you need references, just look at his avatar, or watch the Stereotype videos

Okay, can someone put the picture they drew of Daeus’s Teedletidum’s actually on here, cause I can’t follow the link and I’m dying to see them.
Here, see if anyone wants to draw this person…
He’s an older teen, about eighteen or nineteen. His hair is longer, but not like shoulder length long or anything, just shaggy and long. Like Hiccup. And…[Read more]

Hey everyone! Just one more call throughout the Kingdom (along with the splendiferous help of @Daeus‘s tag) to see if any other KeePers will be at the Best of British Science and Bible Conference at the Creation Museum next Friday and Saturday! Just because I’ve not had time to be on here doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about you all, and I look…[Read more]

@FeedingMyGoldfish Wheee! Yes, I’ve tried the higher-on-bow grip before, but never long enough to get comfortable with it. 😛 I should do it more.
@ClaireC I’m F3 to F5…so that makes me like a cross between alto and mezzosoprano. I love singing, but mostly when I’m alone, or just having fun. 😛 I carry tunes well but I don’t really have technique.

@clairec Thanks for making this!
@kate-flournoy To answer your original question, I have several years of vocal training–a mixture of singing lessons, different choirs over the years, and me testing my voice. I’m a second soprano, but I can drop down to alto as needed. I love testing my voice.

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Singing in the forum Music 7 years, 7 months ago
@ClaireC *raises hand* My vocal range actually has the high end of the soprano and the low end of the mezzosoprano, so I’m not sure what you’d technically call me. 😉 And yes, I do sing… opera? I’m not sure I’d strictly call it opera, but I have several classical songs that I love that could be categorized like that. Voi Che Sapete, for example.…[Read more]

Okay @clairec. I’ll repeat my reply from the sidetracked conversation in the prayer requests thread. I’m also a soprano. I prefer not to sing, but as a music student, we all have to do it at school anyway.

FeedingMyGoldfish replied to the topic Singing in the forum Music 7 years, 7 months ago
@clairec *also raises hand* I love using my opera voice, especially singing opera pop (yay non-Italian…sometimes) like Josh Groban, Il Divo, Il Volo, Chris Mann… All those. Oh, Sarah Brightman! Yeah… 😛
@theliterarycrusader Have I ever mentioned this side of me? XD

@emma-flournoy I want to learn all the fiddling styles…Irish, English, Texas swing, Cajun, Spanish, etc. Basically I just love folk music, period. 😛 The crunching sound is a result of a softer bow, as well as really digging into the strings close(ish) to the frog. Another fun thing to try when playing quicker tunes is holding the bow about…[Read more]
