@That_Writer_Girl_99 I’d be happy to try. 😀
@I-J-Anderson thank you… and WOW. *shakes head* I just… no words. 😛

@michael-stanton Dragon Snapper will never stop laughing. I think I’ll be grinning all night after that. 😀

As the dark vapor seeped out of the room, Dragon Snapper blinked at the door.Then, galvanized into action, she charged after the evil overlord, @michael-stanton. “Does that mean yes? You can be your own independent villain that’s not as cliche as Thran or Throy or whatever his name was!”

Hang on–if we’re the same age, that means you’re graduating this year too, right? @kate-flournoy
That makes sense. I really struggle with outlining, honestly, but I think I’m getting better.
Can we talk about that, actually? I can’t figure out how I want the story to end, which means I don’t know what needs to happen in the middle… -

@Christi-Eaton thanks. 😀 I like trying to capture light… that’s my thing. I really love light. And textures. Sometimes I think I’m getting there. XD
@Aysia-Serene ha! It took me a good long while of practice and observation, that’s how. 😉

@Dragon-Snapper *chokes*
@That_Writer_Girl_99 that’s very much up to you. Some do it completely in their head, some write outlines longer than the work itself. The key thing is to figure out where your MC starts, where you want her by the end, and how you’re going to get her there. Follow the five plot point thingy using your MCs arc as the thing…[Read more]

That’s awesome! I prefer sheet music to tabs, too, although playing tabs is still fun. @dragon-snapper

@that_writer_girl_99 I’ve been playing for almost three years now, though it feels like forever! 😛 I prefer sheet music to tabs. I tried to do it once, and it was quite confusing. 😛

@dragon-snapper You play guitar too? Awesome! How many years have you been playing?
Also, don’t feel bad–I primarily use sheet music too, although I can play tabs if needed.

@clairec Thanks for making this!
@kate-flournoy To answer your original question, I have several years of vocal training–a mixture of singing lessons, different choirs over the years, and me testing my voice. I’m a second soprano, but I can drop down to alto as needed. I love testing my voice.

Thanks. @kate-flournoy
So…how does one go about planning/outlining an arc like this?

@feedingmygoldfish 😀 Thank you. It is really fun to play either style (don’t ask me which one is my favorite, because I’m not really sure). A weird thing about me playing guitar though, is that I can’t read tablature, which is what most guitarists use to play melodies. Instead, I read sheet music. 😛

@ClaireC *raises hand* My vocal range actually has the high end of the soprano and the low end of the mezzosoprano, so I’m not sure what you’d technically call me. 😉 And yes, I do sing… opera? I’m not sure I’d strictly call it opera, but I have several classical songs that I love that could be categorized like that. Voi Che Sapete, for example.…[Read more]

@daeus. To talk about singing.
See? They didn’t need much guidance, did they? Don’t you love the way topics grow so quickly?
@kate-flournoy, Same! Some very minor training from a musical theatre class I used to attend, but that’s about it. My sister and I sing aaallll the time, though, and whenever I start singing, I just look at her and she…[Read more] - Load More
