@timothy-young. No I have not read/heard of W.E. Johns Worrals books. I shall have to ask my brother about them. He is the real Biggles fan. He was the one who started me reading them. Although I guess I have to say thank you to school work (though now I am done with that) 🙂 as I read my first Biggles because of Nepal when we studied it for…[Read more]

Ooh Charlotte’s Web is a great book.
Empty Chairs and Empty Tables is a great song. My family and I made a short movie for a competition and in it I had to cry. So my sister played that song on her laptop and the one time I needed to cry, I was completely dry-eyed. *Unbelievable* So we watched Tony’s confession in War Room and that got the water…[Read more]

@Timothy-Young, Very neat! I’ve only read one Henty, and I liked it, but I’ve never gotten around to reading any others. 🙂 Hmm, I’ve heard of the Scarlet Pimpernel, but I’ve never read it. I’ll have to look into that. 😉

Thanks for tagging me @Daeus! Life got busy (surprise, surprise), and I forgot about the book club. *gasp* I really enjoyed Animal Farm.
@kate-flournoy Sorry, I had to butt in on this conversation. I’ve never read Les Mis, but the music… I’m kind of obsessed. 😉 😛 Les Mis is my all-time FAVORITE musical!!! The music is just so amazing.…[Read more] -

@his-instrument I seem to have lost your email. Do you still have mine? If you do, would you mind shooting me an email? 🙂

@his-instrument *blows out breath* Oh, man. I don’t think you always have to use the same POV in every novel in a series. But I don’t see a reason why you wouldn’t…if that makes sense. I think using the same POV in a series of novels makes the series more cohesive.
I agree with you about first person, by the way. It’s always been easier for…[Read more] -

@his-instrument
Great questions…
I think before I attempt to answer the first one, I need to know: would the stories be told from the same character’s point of view throughout the whole series? Or would you have the first book in third person told from character 1’s point of view, and the next book told in first person from character 2’s point…[Read more] -

I vote for Black Beauty, The Hobbit, Frindle, and The Butterfly Lion. 🙂
(It might help if you tag people @daeus. I almost didn’t see this cause it was still in under Animal Farm) 😉 -

*evil grin* Ah yes, power. Well, I continued reading it to her and I could hardly stop laughing. The King, who dies, made her think of someone she knows and so she gets really sad when he’s mentioned. And at one point in the story Claudia throws the golden conch that her father gave her. My sister made me leap a mile when she yelled…[Read more] -

@Bluejay Wonderful job! Making your readers cry is quite a feat. 😉 I’ve only accomplished it a couple times, myself. It’s so hard because sometimes, when you think you’re writing something moving, sometimes the reader will get a different impression…like thinking something is funny, when it wasn’t meant to be. *sigh*

Guess what? I was reading my “Golden Conch” story to my younger sister and five minutes later she was crying!!! I’m so happy. 🙂 To be honest, she wasn’t poring tears, but she was upset. That is the first time a story has ever done that to anyone in my family. *Jumps for joy, while trying to comfort sister* **Sundaes for everyone again** 😀

@kate-flournoy Thanks for the suggestion of a notebook at this time. I might just do that. Yesterday I went LARPing and the funny thing was I dressed up as the character I’m writing about and so I think I’ll be able to write a few things a bit better now. It was great fun.
And thankfully I can still check KP when my brother is not working on the…[Read more] -
