I’m forever grateful that no one gave me an Amazon upload button at the age of ten. Who knows what I might have inflicted on the world?
Yeah, that wouldn’t be good! I did publish a short story with a program my local library had, and uh, let’s just say I’ve definitely gotten better at writing since then! 😂
I haven’t heard of any o…[Read more]

@booksbyjayna That’s all right. I’ve never had a true cinnamon roll charrie either–my guy characters would probably kill me if I called them that…..

I have never heard of that, but then again, I’m a pantser and just recently began looking into plotting methods.

I have never heard of it! XD I might look into it if I hit a rough spot. For now, the controlled chaos of my writing sketchbook seems to do it. I like the blank pages cuz I can make maps, write random stuffs, and make lists all in the same place.
Ok, that’s outlining not plotting 😂 I suppose I will stop before the rant begins. XD

Ha, apparently “cinnamon roll” is not part of my author vocabulary. I do think I have some characters that my readers would define that way, but I’m trying to think what my equivalent term would be, and I’m drawing a blank. Hopefully that doesn’t say anything about the state of my character development skills!
Lol don’t worry abo…[Read more]

Are my optical apertures beguiling our gray matter or is there a newby to nettle? Hail @booksbyjayna! I’m sure it’s a pleasure to acquire our acquaintance! We beg your pardon for not getting off our high horse for this historic and momentous moment, but that would make us oh so too lowly. (We can’t have that happening now can we?) Perhaps, to make…[Read more]

Hey Jayna! Welcome to KP! Sorry it’s taken me so long to say hi.
Anyway, I’m Theloonyone. Like most here, I am a Christian writer, but I also enjoy music, art, and reading. I play the piano (and the clarinet a little) and have been slowly growing my drawing skills over the past couple of years. Right now, I’m working on a couple o…[Read more]

I agree that guys and girls are different, and that should show in our writing. 🙂 I think my writing will change the more people I meet, and I believe that God will put those people in my life when he wants me to meet them. I’d say that on average my girl characters do express emotion more than the guys in my story.
Also, the t…[Read more]

1. Which character is most like me? Probably Elizabeth Woodbridge, the sister of my WIP’s hero. She’s not a major character, but she looks a bit like me and we are both learning to do hard things even when it scares us. Rane Armistead, my WIP’s secondary hero, shares my love for words and refinement. And in my first novel, alrea…

@felicity I think sometimes that whatever stage of a book project we’re in, it feels as if the real work is just beginning!

I know a missionary family who was in Ukraine and had to flee the country; I can’t imagine what it would be like for the people still there. Is it hard to write a project about a conflict that hasn’t ended?
I’ve been touched by the stories I’ve heard and I think that’s what inspired me to write about it. Yes, it’s a bit diff…[Read more]

Y’know it’s am important thing to consider. I have not had many interactions with well… many people at all in my life. I have a hard time writing girls because I haven’t known many personally (my sister has always been my closest friend, other than that I’ve had some shallow chit chat friendships but nothing really significant) I…[Read more]

Alrighty!! Here we go!
1. Favorite Bible character?
Queen Esther, of course. 😉 Besides the face that she has an epic name, I love reading her story because she trusted God so much and let Him use her in miraculous ways!
2. If you could visit any country in the world, which country would it be? And why?
I wish I could tour Europe,…[Read more]

@booksbyjayna I live in Florida. Down here we get a lot of new coverage about invasive pythons. They eat native wildlife, but recently we found their eggs are being eaten by bobcats. So the animals are learning how to survive with a new predator in town…….
My dad had an idea of a story where a python queen is terrorizing the animals of the…[Read more]

1. Snakes are not cool. They’re vaguely interesting as long as I know they’re there, but a snake sneaking up on me is the opposite of cool.
😫
Lol I’m kidding. Not everyone has to like snakes XD

@booksbyjayna I have a question….if you don’t mind…. I have a finished first draft of a 14,113 word novelette and I was wondering at what point would you suggest I hire a professional editor? I want to do some revisions, line editing, and have it Alpha read, but that’s about as far as I’ve planned.
