Love it, @bluejay! Looking at that prompt, I couldn’t decide whether it was a sword on his back or the pipes of a bagpipe. 😛 I ended up not mentioning it at all, and I guess that was fine. 😉
Now let’s see if I can figure out the ‘image’ setting so I can post the picture and you can actually see what I’m talking about. Here goes…

@bluejay I’m not sure if I was working super fast since I was actually rewriting, not writing. I’m editing a novella of mine right now. I did add probably 250-300 words though and that with a lot of attention to perfection and working out how to best make what I had written before come alive and be tangible. I certainly felt very on track.

@bluejay Wow! A whole hour and I didn’t hardly get off track at all. I think that worked really well. Do you think it worked? I’m going to have to do this more often. I think it’s just that accountability factor.

@bluejay That’s a good question. What we do know is that people in that time had a higher IQ, better genetics, and lived much longer than we do and so could accumulate a huge store of knowledge. Hence, it is only logical to conclude that the preflood world was highly advanced, but probably advanced in different ways than we are today. At the same…[Read more]

This is really good, @bluejay! 😀 I like the characters’ chemistry and how they interact. And I think I’ve already said this, but I really love the humor in it (and the dinner table scene 😉 ).
A couple thoughts:The following day Uncle Daniel took me for a drive through the reserve. My goal was to see as many different animals as possible…

Ok @anna-brie and @Bluejay, this should clear it up.

@bluejay I’d imagine a caricatured somewhat elongated fellow leaning over another guy with one fist on his collar and the other fist raised. I’d have him staring into the other guy’s face with a smug investigative expression accompanied by a squarish scowl. You know, with one eyebrow up questioningly and the other sharply down in an angry look.

@Bluejay not today. Tomorrow I should have time to write.

@bluejay That looks great! Only two little things. First, the “about” in “About forty days later” seems to be in the way. I think the poem will flow better without it. Second, I might put an ellipsis either before or after the “And guess what they saw?”
That’s it.
Best regards,

@Ingridrd @jadamae thank you for saying so. Your praise encourages me to continue with poetry writing. This is one of the few poems I have written that I think is any good, but you make me want to edit the bad ones and see if I can’t make something of them after all. Who knows? 🙂
As to the name, I’m so glad we’re all of the same mind! That…[Read more]

I have a quick question for y’all, @kate-flournoy , @bluejay , @daeus
Did any of you guys read the poem before your read my description of what it’s about? If you did, do you think you would have enjoyed it half so much if you knew before you read that the poem described a typewriter?
I think the answer to this will significantly narrow down…[Read more]

@bluejay Well that’s fair since I wouldn’t have put it down to you to look so strikingly like a koala. I’ll tell you, that’s some serious cosmetics. Do they do that type of stuff in the Australian salons? I’m pretty sure our’s don’t – not that I’ve ever been to one.
Here’s an idea. Maybe those of us that have this problem could log in and holler…[Read more]
