@kate-flournoy I just think it’s hilarious how you were like “Plotting! Oh, yeah. There’s that guy who can’t shut up about plot. Lemme tag ‘im.”
Anyways . . .
@BethanySinkyRoses The Weiland books will basically have you covered (The Structure one is better than the Outlining one). I’d also suggest getting these two books by James Scott Bell: Plo…[Read more]

@BethanySinkyRoses hmmm… specifically for plot… *wrinkles nose* Hm. Plot isn’t actually what I care about most so most of my favorites… I don’t really notice. 😛
Hm.
If you have a huge chunk of time on your hands, try The Count of Monte Cristo. Also Dickens’ Nicholas Nickleby. I’ll let you know if I think of any others. 😉 -

@BethanySinkyRoses welp, the resources you already have are great. I learned the hard way— trial, error, and observation 😛 — so I don’t have any others to suggest, but let me tag a few of our more *cough* knowledgeable members and see if they have any suggestions for you.

@graciegirl As long as it isn’t the full name of any famous person (whether living or deceased), overly abstract or silly, a penname is fine. 🙂
@bethanysinkyroses Yes–that would be fine! Ideally we’ll have people from all over the spectrum–some who have been here for a while and some who have joined recently, so that would be no problem.

@bethanysinkyroses Thanks for that conference recommendation! As Michael mentioned, we’ll need to talk as a team about how much of an investment it’s worth to attend these conferences, but I’d definitely love to attend more of them if we can make them financially feasible for us. I’ll add that convention to our list of potential conferences next year.

Hey all,
One of our goals for this year is to better cultivate our forum community. Part of that has to do with re-organizing forum topics and finding a better forum software that’s mobile-friendly and offers other benefits like a list of active topics. But part of that also has to do with getting more people on the forum, as we’d love to watch…[Read more]

Yes, the logo, site address, and motto. The name and tagline could be at the top, a few bullet type mentions below that, the address at the bottom, and then the back could be free for notes. What do you think, @bethanysinkyroses?

@bethanysinkyroses and @hope, Awesome thoughts! I totally agree with the main purpose of this handout:
A physical reminder of an amazing conversation with a fellow writer
I think it would be great to keep a lot of open space on the card for writing notes and such since it is used during a conversation. Thus, we are only putting the vary core of…[Read more]

@bethanysinkyroses, I’m going to tag @aratrea (Josiah) because he just actually took KP to a homeschool conference.
I would definitely like to see KP at more homeschooling conferences because it is a place where we are most likely to be able to interact with our target audience (Young Christian Authors, or their parents in this case). I know at…[Read more]

I agree with @bethanysinkyroses; a smaller handout – a notecard or even business card size would be nice to give to friends. I think the brochure is great for someone who doesn’t know about Kingdom Pen but I’m picturing the audience for the smaller handout is someone who is already interested because they just had an excited friend tell them how…[Read more]

Just to keep the creative juices flowing, here is a link to the kp brochure pdf that @theliterarycrusader made for kp.
I’ll also create a thread where we can compile KP resources.
For these sorts of projects (and most projects) I like to work my way backwards from the end-goal of such initiatives. It would seem to me that the end goal of this…[Read more]

@bethanysinkyroses I would think a simple business card type of design would work very well. It can have our name, tagline, and website on one side. On the other, it might have the list of things we provide, such as forum/community, courses, articles, contests, etc. What might be really cool is if there were a place on the design for people to…[Read more]

God bless @bethanysinkyroses! It can really be hard to be able to focus on God when we are surrounded by the tulmont of voices in this world. God’s love is amazing. I’m so lad to hear that you are savouring your relationship with God. Don’t forget, always focus on being the tree from psalm one, even in the midst of psalm 2.

Hi @bethanysinkyroses, god’s been teaching me a lot in the last little while.
I guess some of the main things are that I can not be 100% brilliant at everything, so, just to appreciate being who He made me to be.
And the other main one is to glorify Him in all I do, that I may be a light to the rest of the world. Not to conform, but to transform.…[Read more] -

@bethanysinkyroses, That is a Great Idea! I’m going to tag @theliterarycrusader (Brianna) who is our copy editor and graphic designer.
My thought goes something like this
– Wow! bethanysinkyroses is super cool and involved and probably should be promoted to a new title soon.
– I love this idea of having a printable resource for our stewards.
– I…[Read more] -
