@seekjustice I’ve been watching a YouTube video on the differences between American, British, and Australian English. 😀
The difference that really stuck out to me was that the Australian person in the video said you don’t have “Liquor stores” you have “bottle shops.” Is that true? And if so, how do you play the alphabet gam…[Read more]

@valtmy I see. Yes, regarding worldbuilding that makes sense.
Well, in that case I think Jean would be stupid to be living still in the same city instead of relocating to another city or country. The world is huge, and he can go anywhere he wants to, as he has a lot of money (I think that was established, right?) so why would he stay right t…[Read more]

@seekjustice Oh, and I don’t mean that Caderousse herself is necessarily a spy per se. Just that she seems to be acting like one in the hypothetical you proposed. If she’s targeting one particular person for one particular reason, rather than crime in general, she’d likely have some sort of spy system looking out specifically for what Jean is d…[Read more]

My first thought on reading your question was on how that would impact the original confrontation between Caderousse and Sapphire. If Caderousse had been observing and examining the Verde family for years in attempt to find a pretense to arrest Jean, (or something similar, I’m not sure exactly what you’re intending here, but the…[Read more]

@catwing Well, I’m pretty consistent tonight. This time it was 401 words. 😛

@seekjustice Who knows? The Word processor seems to be quite a bunch of confusion, at any rate.
Okay I’ll be starting my timer for 15 minutes now. SeekJustice, you’ll be joining too, right?

@catwing Ah, I see. Yes, it did that to all my characters’ names too, but then I added them to the dictionary, so that helped. Maybe you should do that. Or you could keep it this way just so you can have the fun of complaining to and threatening Mr. Squiggly-Line. Ooh, Mr. Squiggly-Line hyphenates. Doesn’t that usually mean he’s pompous and…[Read more]

@seekjustice I checked, and mine wants to do the same, despite the fact that the sentence would make absolutely no sense if the word were “tripled” instead of “tripped.” In fact, I am laughing right now at the picture I get of Bathshua moving so quickly she triples herself. I wonder if it just means that the reader gets a weird form of double v…[Read more]

@seekjustice Yes, basically. On Word documents a blue line usually means that you’ve made a grammatical error.
Here’s the sentence. Do you see any grammatical errors in it?
Bathshua nearly tripped in her haste to step inside and close the door
As I said, on my document the word “tripped” is underlined as though it were used i…[Read more]

@seekjustice Thanks. 😉 Congratulations, of course.
I am currently trying to figure out why there’s a little blue line under the word “tripped” in the newly written part of my novel.
Isn’t spellcheck/grammar check annoying sometimes?

(Mine too. However, it’s not such a bad song to have stuck in your head, is it?)
Aw, too bad. You’ll ruin the new reputation you’re acquiring.
Yup, Biblical times were pretty terrible. But also pretty wonderful.
Wanna word war?
@valtmy Hello!

(Ohhohee what a comforting thing to see!)
It’s a miracle! 😛 You have gone soft. That’s not a bad thing, though.
Did you transfer some of your hardness of heart to me? My poor characters in DoJ are having pretty awful experiences. 🙁 (They’re necessary experiences, though…historical ones, at least…mostly…)

@seekjustice 😀 😀 😀 😀 😛
What a comforting thing to know! 😉
What happened, did you unrealistically rescue him/her like in the case of Justice?

@seekjustice @catwing I’ve got to go now. I might be back in an hour or more for some word warring if anyone’s still here. Bye!

@seekjustice Yeah, I might. I’ve never been in weather hotter than around 102 F (38.8 C). It gets quite a bit hotter in Australia, doesn’t it?
@catwing Have you ever traveled to where there is snow?

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #21 in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years ago
@seekjustice I have decided.
I am coming to Australia, not to visit you, but to escape the winter and enjoy the summer.
@catwing has it easy. She lives down south. 😛
