@alia On the run… I think she would much rather be out and about with someone she doesn’t like than cooped up alone.
@perfectfifths Easy, she’d never have a birthday again… but then Sage is a cat and doesn’t care about birthdays much anyways…Would your character rather live for a month by eating bland porridge or eating bugs that could be seasoned?

@dekreel I’ve never watched Doctor Who, but so many people keep telling me that I should. Is there a particular season that you would recommend? I seem to recall that there are different actors who play the Doctor.
@sam-kowal Thanks! A jaguarundi is actually one of the plainest cats around, but they have somehow ended up as my favorite wild cat species and I’m not sure why, haha. They are relatively small, about the size of a house cat or a little bigger, and they come in either plain, unmarked gray or red.
@itisastarrynight Oooh, your story world sounds intriguing! I haven’t seen the new Murder on the Orient Express, but I would like to. I did see the TV episode of it, though. Agatha Christie really is a fantastic writer, and she also does really good suspense—like The Big Four or The Secret Adversary."Reflect that I may be an acquired taste... @jenwriter17 Technically, I do play violin, only I haven’t in a while because of college draining my free time. I take you also play an instrument; what do you play?

@seekjustice Ah yes, the old Sherlock Holmes. I read all of those, loved them, and couldn’t really get into the BBC Sherlock because they altered the characters so much.
Historical fiction is a lot of fun! Have you ever read any of Lynn Austin’s books that take place around the time of the Civil War? They’re very well-written, and to be honest, I bawled my eyes out reading them. (That doesn’t happen a lot with me, so that’s how I know they’re really good books.)
I don’t know if I necessarily have a favorite character, but Percy’s pretty cool, of course, and Marguerite had a lot of growth over the course of the story. One of my favorite things about the book is the opening line, because it just establishes the setting so well. Funny thing is, I haven’t actually read any of the other books. I don’t know why.

Sage (who is a jaguarundi) would rather climb a tree.
Would your character rather spend a night inside a hollow log in a dense forest or out in the middle of an open field?
(Sage would rather sleep in a log.)

@jenwriter17 Ludovico Einaudi! I actually have a piece by him on my classical music playlist, I Giorni. Do you have a favorite piece?
I like classical music. The Scheherazade Suite by Rimsky-Korsakoff is one of my favorite pieces. Mozart in general is great for cheering me up; so far, I have found it impossible to be grouchy while listening to Mozart. And then there’s the overture for Die Fledermaus, which is toe-tapping, but also likely to leave with chunks of it stuck in your head for a long time.
Film scores are also awesome, especially John Williams. I also like some electronic music, specifically by Ray Lynch. Then of course I like a whole bunch of random pop and songs from musicals. And Pink Martini, a band from my home state.

@that_writer_girl_99 Thanks!
@jenwriter17 Do you have a favorite Marvel movie?
@itisastarrynight Fishkeeping is fun, but to keep the fish healthy is a lot of work. At least with goldfish, because they’re pretty messy. What is the writing project you’re working on currently?
@seekjustice Now that I’m more knowledgable about writing, I would agree that Warriors went down sharply in quality after the first two series, but I sure loved all of them when I was younger! Haha, Hollyleaf was actually one of my favorite characters, perhaps because she was unusually well-developed. I think fantasy and mystery are probably my favorite genres, though I do like some slice-of-life and romance as well (mainly Jan Karon and Lynn Austin). How about you?
@dekreel Thanks! Oooh, that is a big question. For books, I like the Flavia de Luce mysteries, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and then pretty much anything by Agatha Christie, Lynn Austin, Jan Karon, P.G. Wodehouse, and Jane Austen. Lumping movies and TV shows together, I adore the 1995 Pride and Prejudice, which is probably my favorite out of both categories. Otherwise, my favorites include Up, most Star Wars, the animated Beauty and the Beast, the live-action Cinderella, and most movies with Humphrey Bogart, especially Sabrina. What are your favorites?"Reflect that I may be an acquired taste... Give me the same chance you would an olive." –Psmith
@that_writer_girl_99 Huge fan of Kylo Ren, maybe not… but I think he’s had a lot of good character development and I reeeaally want to see him redeemed. I technically have a work in progress (~30k words so far), but I haven’t worked on it since Camp Nanowrimo in July, thanks to being on the semester system which meant I started school in August.
@sam-kowal Yep, the Thunderpath! 🙂 I’ve come to realize that the books aren’t especially well-written, but the world is so much fun. As for my main book? It’s definitely fantasy, but with a hefty dose of suspense and political intrigue thrown in, taking place in a society of intelligent animals (the main character is a jaguarundi who is trying to balance taking care of her family with solving mysterious happenings and preventing the government from collapsing)."Reflect that I may be an acquired taste... Thanks everyone for the welcomes! 🙂
@clairec I’ve been writing for at least 6 or 7 years, and I am from the beautiful state of Oregon.
@aratrea There is a website called the Odyssey, which is primarily a platform for college students to share their thoughts on all sorts of subjects. My school, Corban, has its own community of writers on the Odyssey. Mostly I’ve been doing more blog-type posts there, but I have written the occasional short story and poem.
@ingridrd I go to Corban University!
@daeus Haha I’m kind of conflicted on Kylo Ren to be honest… at least, I’m not sure if I personally like him, but I do think he is one of the most interesting characters in the Star Wars movies.
@notawriter Birdwatching is what the general public calls my hobby, but when it begins to take over your life… That’s when we start calling ourselves birders and not just birdwatchers, haha. 😀
@mnvalentine I like classical music and film scores, as well as just a lot of random stuff from musicals and old pop. I practically grew up on the Beatles. Pink Martini, which is a band from Oregon, is also one of my favorites.
@skredder Yay for ISFJ! My favorite Warriors character is probably Hollyleaf. I feel like she had much better character development than most of the other characters in the series.
@livgiordano I have an older brother and a younger sister. Favorite color? Hard to say, I like a lot of colors… I’ve always liked pink, and more recently gray, but I also love a lot of natural earthy greens and browns.
@jenwriter17 I saw TLJ, and apart from a few weird scenes, I thought it was great! Captain America and Thor are my favorite superheroes. I should mention my Marvel knowledge is limited to the movies; I haven’t read the comic books. But the Avengers are great—each of us in my high school debate club got to have an Avengers personality, and I ended up as Cap! So that was fun."Reflect that I may be an acquired taste... You know you’re a writer when you start imagining a story revolving around a person you always drive past on your commute.

Hi! I’m also brand new to Kingdom Pen 🙂
And I was homeschooled for pretty much all of my life. High five, fellow homeschooler!
